i haven't watched mlp in a year because i forgot what episode i was on so i would watch it but i have no idea so should i start season 5 again or should i try to guess what episode i'm on please help me

Considering that you haven't watched it in about a year, you were most likely in the early episodes of S5, so I'd say you should just rewatch it. After all, there's no harm in seeing episodes again! :P
