gaming NX or Bust: Nintendo can't fail this time. It isn't looking good.

I am not going to repeat the news everyone has known in the past week about the NX not being unveiled at E3 and instead will have a possible release date at Nintendo's fiscal year of March 2017. I am not here to bash Nintendo, in all honesty, I hate Fony and Micro$oft. Sure Nintendo back in the 90s was a hellhole to work for and I understand these are all just corporations that want to make money....Whether legally or illegally.

I just really think that Nintendo is that representation of an older era of gaming, what gaming was about, having. It is my opinion, that youtube partnerships, social media and graphics(to a small extent) have ruined game play and fun factor.

I used to own a Wii U and sold it last year, knowing I would be missing out on the new Star Fox Zero, thankfully I wasn't missing much. Thank you very much Nintendo! I waited 10 years after the atrocity known as Star Fox Command, for a sub-par and mediocre Star Fox Wii U game. I hope the Zelda remasters and Mario games were worth it.

If ti weren't for the GAMES on the playstation( Not Sony as a company) I would be a lonely gamer, or not even a gamer at all.  would rather a company like Insomniac work for Nintendo, but the hardware for this incompetent company, who is stuck in 1998, isn't there.

I don't know what will happen. I am not counting out Nintendo 100%. But given their track record, I am expecting a console a little bit more powerful than a PS4 and that's about it. Nintendo isn't bankrupt, they're getting a spot at Universal Studios which will make them a killing. But if they keep screwing up, then they're going to be a third party developer and the Nintendo and SEGA era will be dead... Since hey, SEGA is on death's door too.

I'm not counting Nintendo out, but given all of their track record, and the way they are going about this release... I am more leaning towards this being a 75% chance of failure. I mean they are banking everything on Zelda at E3 this year which to me doesn't spell out "third party friendly" when you bank it all on a first party game. Then there's been too many rumors that suggest this system will be weaker than the PS4 and Xbox One.

Furthermore, Nintendo is releasing it AFTER the holidays so it doesn't have to compete with the PS4 and Xbox One which to me suggests that they don't believe it CAN compete. I don't hate any of the companies, and I definitely don't hate Nintendo, but I'm not 100% convinced that the NX will save them because I'm not 100% convinced that Nintendo has learned their lesson from the Wii or the Wii U.

That's all I have to say on the matter.

Comcast can only nipple feed Nintendo so long with a theme park deal. Currently Nintendo needs  to take measures to prevent bankruptcy 5-7 years from now. People go to theme parks all year long, and if you're in Universal Studios FL, than you already are in the safe zone.

I am estimating that it will be slightly more powerful than the XB1. I am ragging on Sony and Microsoft because they make their arrogant attitudes visible unlike Nintendo. Seeing Sony hurt from 2011-2013 was pretty pleasurable. Because Sony has always been an arrogant and dirty company. This video regarding their DSLR cameras  is quick and to the point. Sony having the balls to say that Nikkon and Canon are up to snuff with "Sony's hardware"

I try not to play favorites because when you do, you end up disappointed because your favorite company can fail and your least favorite can succeed. Then you just end up annoyed all the time.

I focus solely on the games, the game experience and what the companies are doing to improve that.

Sony is riding on gimmicks like Nintendo(VR) and VR will go the way of 3DTV.." oooh cool I can pay $800 to get virtually laid."

Maybe.

Who knows.

The interest in VR did not seem to be shaken by the Occulus fiasco where they failed to deliver the pre-orders. The HTC Vive sold more than expected on launch. We'll have to say to know for sure. The technology did get far more pre-orders than originally thought. This is not really the same as gimmicks of the past. In the past Nintendo pumped out motion controls that no one was asking for and then everyone copied it.

In this case, people WANTED VR on consoles. The demand was there, so Sony answered the demand.

I'm not 100% convinced it'll instantly flop. It'll definitely be a niche market, but the market clearly is there because Sony didn't start development of the headset until demand appeared.

Also I have to disagree with Sony relying on gimmicks. Sony's success has come from superior multi-platform ports of popular games, and the promise of exclusives people want. I mean Bloodborne sold a lot of systems, and this year Sony is pumping out The Last Guardian, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. Sony also is getting favoritism with Call of Duty which is a big seller.

Sony's success at the moment is based heavily on games and the quality of games.

Capcom

Naughty Dog

Insomniac

Konami

Santa Monica

These developers MADE the PS1/2/3 and without them, Sony wouldn't even have existed in the gaming world.

Well we can't hold the past as an indicator of the future because the rules change and what is in demand changes as well. Remember in 1991, Nintendo was seen as the superior platform for 3rd parties. Not so much anymore. Things change, and we are definitely in a different market than we were back then.

Focus on the future, not the past.

The past is useful because the same paths and mistakes can repeat again. Sony and Microsoft are that arrogant, that like any other corporation, they can die and fade away. By some divine intervention, if Linux kills Microsoft( or an alternate reality). Sony is lucky with the PS4, which in my opinion is there worst console. The PS4 is a console with 3 games I like. The PS1 and PS2 had ALL the games. Sadly, it isn't like the old days.

What you or I like though doesn't speak to success. It's about what the majority likes, which right now the PS4 has the most of.

Based on these factors .

1.) Microsoft doesn't care about competing in the console market, hence the XB1 being a piece of garbage.

2.) The Wii U

PS4 is really the only option. Wasn't like last gen where the 360 and PS3 were neck and neck.
