It just seems odd, but the clocks in equestria seem to have 8 positions not 12.  What is odder still is it carries over to equestria girls.

I am pretty sure that it is just a simple design choice from the animators.

I highly doubt that it has anything major to do with any worldbuilding or anything.

I think so, too!

Then again... WHY? I see the point of simplifying, say... wing anatomy or something. Those 7-feathered wings are far easier to animate plus they fit the distinctive art style ponies are drawn in. But removing 4 positions from a clock's face? What's the point in that? It's LITERALLY just 4 lines...

Well our clocks are a bit... odd... to say the least.  I mean we even have an AM and a PM showing a 24 hour clock on a 12 hour clock face.

I mean if they had an AM and MM and a PM they could theoretically have 24 hour days with an 8 hour clock(say 8 hours that are always day even in winter, 8 hours that are always dark even in summer, and the third which could go either way).  OR their hours could be 3 times as long with 8 hours per day.
