I'm not sure that I 100% agree with the lose-lose part of this.

If the movie is good, we may get other strong gender-bent remakes of movies that I loved.  

Just because people write annoying articles (that I don't plan on reading), or jump on the bandwagon and make shitty movies (that I don't plan to watch), doesn't mean it's not a fine idea and experiment.  

 

Fair Point. But be prepared for chaos on almost all social media. The potential fallout from this movie is going to be interesting to say the least.

If it is successful then people will think guilting audiences and accusing them of sexism if they don't see a movie is a viable business strategy. That's what I am fearing.

Who knows. Either way, these next few days are going to be pretty interesting.
