"Well surely the Arabians have terminals don't they? Computers? Phones?... Didn't I give you my cellphone number- actually no I didn't now that I think.." She says pulling her phone to her attention. 

 

After a brief exchange of numbers they return their usual.

 

"But yeah... " She iterated. "Guess.. just keep in touch?" She said trailing a bit. 

"It's not gonna be a fun day I'll say." She said tapping her hooves on the carrier deck looking up at the stars.

"Just keep in touch?... I thought we might be a little more than that..." She wasn't sure what else to add, the words seemed casual like either she was trying to appear that way or was that way, Star could not tell. But she felt close to Heavy, she'd been with her almost everyday for a month now (getting to) on this ship and she did not want to be apart from here. 

 

She got up and started slowly away from her, something... "I'll um go..." As she slowly started to leave.

Cloud looking to her,She got up.

"What's wrong?" She asked proaching.

 

"You don't want to keep touch? Something bothering you?" She continued on.

 

With the two now face and face their was a long pause between the two as they met in sight.

 

"You can tell me anything Star. I won't bite." She iterated

She looks down. "It's obvious that you don't feel the way I do..." She did not look up at Heavy. "I wish to do nothing to endanger our friendship, what we have now, so I'll keep my feelings to my self lest I ruin this... even if it's only a little while before I leave." She almost felt like crying, Heavy was quite open as a friend but she never hinted at anything romantic so she must not of liked her.

Cloud blushed a bit. She felt this was coming. She could feel it, hint at it. But perhaps that was just the extra attachment to her.

 

"Star..." She whispered. With her hoof pressed under her comrades chin she raise her gaze to hers.

 

"Yes." She said. Whilst a bit vague of an answer Star could feel herself churning inside. Cloud leaned and embraced her tightly nuzzling into her cheek with fired passion. 

"I don't want you to go so soon." She nearly whimpered as they sat back down onto the carrier.

"I think that was a yes to what I was thinking, like um we being fillyfoolers?" She sat next to Heavy and just looked at her for a while. Really she was looking at her differently noticing things she'd not before, Heavy looked good in the night time, the moon made her shine.

"Hehe if that's what you wanna call it. I like it simple." She leans in whispering to her. "A special somepony." She says before smirking. Before any other reaction she is surprised by a quick peck to the lips from her newly established marefriend. 

 

"Come on its getting late. This call from some celebratory snuggles." She gave a playful smirk to her. 

 

Back down into Cloud's quarters Star entered in first followed by Cloud herself. Turning to face the mare she is suddenly greeted by a gently push onto the bed before being pinned down a sudden attack of tickles from her fellow comrade and she bursted into laughter along with Cloud.

Star was a flail of hooves and wings and laughter as she was tickled to death by Heavy. "No.... hahahaha... please... no... hahahaha stop... hahahah please!!" She begged as she was tickled like there was no tomorrow and it was driving her nuts, but at the same time she was loving it and did not want her to stop.

With the two locked in form passion they wrestled and played finding themselves suddenly on the floor. Star landing upon Cloud, the two met gazes to check their conditions both letting out a hearty laugh before pressing their noses to one another.

"Don't get too comfy. I got more plans were this came.." She grinned and the two return to a newly found flurry of kisses.

With weeks off of an operation and with new found time spent between each other it was the day they both feared. And just in her email inbox she recieved her Notice of Expedition. With a proper slam of her forehead she gave the bad news. After much more hugs and kisses they awaited for that woeful day. But assuring to one another they would stay in touch as much as possible. 

 

Down in the briefing room they awaited patiently for their departure briefing from their commander. Each taking their seats one another. And noting Heavy Cloud was awaiting outside when they were done.

"So anyone have any clue, like how far this base is from where we are now?" Honestly Star did not want to leave the ship for several reasons the main one now being Heavy of course. But there were a few others, the amount of time they'd been there the ship felt like home the longer they were there. They'd as a squad got to know quite a few of the ship's crew and most of them had expanded their friends circles. 

 

Moving them now was, was a bad idea on commands part.

Before anypony could speak up their commander entered in with papers in tow along with the carrier captain. The two quietly discuss to each other with the formal salutes done with and the squad take their seats. 

 

"No idea... we'll find out." Razor leaned in whispering to Star.

 

The commander sniffled a little bit. "Let's uh, get this under way. Think I have a cold coming." He sniffles again.

 

"Our transfer came in from Royal Air Defense and the Armed Conflicts Intervention. The upstairs ponies. You'll be heading for the Al Sula- Sali?.." He compossed himself from the error. 

"Sulayaminjar Forward Air Base. You'll be right up there with the front. Expect some frequent missions with the Arabians." He says.

 

"Forward command will be passed to their commander Mussien Hussain." he adds with the projection on the wall before them displaying the northern province of Sulayaminjar with a brown coated bearded pony beside it. 

"I expect you all to give them the same treatment of respect as to our own command. " He says.

 

"Also as a good treat your week wage will be transferred early to your accounts. Just a little early reward for your good efforts these few weeks." The commander gave a proud smile to them.

Star grumbled something about the wages, something no one could hear but her. Her facial expression did not change despite hearing all the things she did not want to... But once this was all over she'd see Heavy again and that'd be ok. But she was a bubbling pile of anger at this point and was trying to hide it.

"Final prep will commence tomorrow morning at 0900 hours. At then you'll depart and arrive Al Sulayaminjar Air Base and will be given a brief orientation by Commander Hussain. He'll show you around and be given your tasks from then on. Also be noted when you arrive you'll be filling a brief info registry. Most records have already be given to the Arabian military but it's more so just an orientation thing. Nothing too bad." He says.

 

"Oh and finally. Keep your embassy and command open report lines numbers on you. As we all know the Arabians are still at their little fuss about Changelings. You are under no circumstance to take any order and carry out against any Changeling beings. Only in self defense. If you're given an order relating to that or are simple questioning about the legitimacy about it give one of these a call and have contact with either an Ambassador or Regimental Orders Officer. " He says.

 

Star takes note of this. She'll have to pay close attention to specific orders from the Arabians.

 

"If you have no further questions. You're all dismissed." With that they all salute and the commander departs followed by the Squad. Heavy is there to immediately greet Star with a warm nuzzle.

 

"Hey." She says.

She sat down and pulled heavy into a hug where she squeazed the life from the Pegasus. "I wish I could stay here with you..." She did not stop hugging as she spoke.

Heavy Cloud gave a giggle and nuzzled her cheek.

 

"Of course we will silly. Text, face chat, phone calls. Whatever your pref."She says continuing to nuzzle her. The two walking about trying to restrain their PDA away from the rest of the passerbys as they head off to Cloud's quarters. Once inside Cirrius gave a happy squack as they entered. Knowing what she wanted Star allowed her out through the port window.

She walks over and scratches under her beak. "At least you can fly all you like at the airbase Cirrus, no need to ask me to open the window for you, but you come back tonight, we're moving home again tommorrow." She then opened the window letting her out. "Love that daft bird." As she looked back to Heavy.

Heavy smiled happily.

 

The two sit about in silence for a bit before Heavy took hold of her hoof.

 

"It's gonna be okay Star." She says, just trying to muster up what comfort she can give her.

 

"Hey?.. Watcha wanna do when this is all over?" She asked, just curious on what will lay in store later on.

"Well... I was thinking of going back to my old life, Wonderbolts, looking at stars, you know I'm a tenured professor at the university of Cloudsdale?" She looked to Heavy. "I mean... well that was the plan but now I've got you, I mean... what do you want to do when we get home from this?"

"Hehe.. well First explain to my family I got a marefriend. Oh that'll give em the shocker." She chuckles. 

 

"Eh. Well the first thing is to see the family. I'm well over due for a vacation break. Maybe we could to Haywaii? Tons of lounging and cuddling under a palm shade." She says giving her a wink. The two lay back on the bunk just letting out a collective sigh.

 

"Sis will be so happy to see me." She says trailing off a bit. Not sure what to say next. The two mares lay about just soaking in their plans. And the near future.

"It's nice to think ahead, but we shouldn't you know, since we don't know if our last op is out there or not, really I don't want to plan. Just one day at a time and if I get through this then, then I'll get on with my life, but I just don't want to tempt fate with ruining everything."

"Just follow your training. And we'll get through it." She says and planted a breif nuzzle to her cheek.

 

She sat up and looked to the window. Then laid back down next to Star.

"Mm... Maybe I'll go to university? I thought about maybe... programming? I do like a bit of tinkering with some computers." She said. Looking to Star she pressed her nose to hers.

 

"Does Cloudsdale uni teach any?" She asked her with a smile.

"Yeah training, sure they gave us loads of training they did... just follow that and I won't get killed by some enemy ace out there or anything... Nevermind that, on the bit about uni, yeah we have a computer science part of the Uni, plus you know... your seeing a professor and everything, might make it easier for you to pass." She giggled.

Cloud gave out a chuckle giving her a seductive smirk. 

"Maybe I could persuade my way in?" She giggles a bit playfully poking at her side-

 

"Surprise!" A bursted entry from Kris gave the two a startled jump. 

"Oh boy! Were you two getting kinky!?" He added giving a playful grin. A sudden toss from Cloud his face became blinded by a used T-shirt. He raised his hoof speaking in a muffled volume. 

"I clearly deserved it." he said. 

 

"Ever heard of knocking?" Cloud asked.

"No. I just burst in, giving a show." Was the reply

"We could of been doing something private... Kris... We were not however..." She had half a mind to bash his head in for that. She sat up to make herself a little more formal and less so relaxed than she was with Heavy alone, though Kris was not reason not to have to worry about anything he was just a silly bugger.

"Umm. Please don't mind me." A soft voice spoke as Soar entered in next kinda timidly. 

"Hey kinda.. dragged me here." She added

 

"Yeah well you've been hiding away with our upcoming ace here and figured I would force myself into this conversation!.. T-that kinda.. coulda worded that better." Kris says trailing off a bit on his awkward comment. Everypony giggled a bit.

 

"It was Kris' idea. Figured we'd all spend some extra time together before we left." Soar spoke up. 

 

Kris noted over to the dangled mess of cords near Cloud's desk his lit up noting the old cartirdge console. 

"Oohhhh~ lookie here!" He kneels down to examine it.

"Don't piss yourself looking." Cloud gave a snarky comment.

"Oh! A classic!" Kris commented.

 

Standing upright he raises his right hoof.

"Madam! I demand a duel!" He says in such superfical tone. Cloud shook her head and chuckled.

 

"Are you okay with it Star?" She asked to her.
