@@Tao, Clover looked at the two who stood before her, recognising the two she'd sent a letter to to ask to join the mission. She had figured that they could use all the help they could get, given that they had to travel all over Equestria to find the jewels. "That's right," the alicorn princess replied. "I'm so glad you could join the quest. At the moment, we're travelling to the Everfree to collect the first jewel. I trust you read everything I sent?"

The train clacked along as Spell Smith looked over the items in his saddlebags again. A blanket, some rope, a knife, a couple of books, and other camping necessities. It wasn't much, but he wasn't planning on staying for very long. The Everfree wasn't a place you went on vacation.

He considered turning back. His night would be much better spent at home, in a comfy bed than it would be on the ground. But a bet was a bet. He wasn't going to lose just because he was too scared to camp in the Everfree. And besides, it was only one night.

 

Smith packed his stuff back into his saddlebags. Anything that he was missing he would just have to do without.

Smith was surprised to see other ponies getting off at the same station. There wasn't much out here other than the Everfree. Perhaps they're also going into the Everfree. He snorted at the thought. Not a chance. "So, where are you guys going?"

Snowflake thought to himself "more lives to look after, I hope this Changeling knows what she's doing bring an army of ragtag individuals to save an entire race." Snowflake then looked over at the pony asking where we were headin. "We're on a secret mission for the princess, can't spare you the details. Last thing we need is somepony to get in our way... err no offense... I meant... you know someone to stop us."

Foami sat on a bench looking at his map before he noticed a group of ponies talking with each other. He overheard one of them say something about a secret mission for the princess. As soon as he heard the word "mission", he had thought of the missions that he and his friends/fellow guards would go on to keep Equestria safe. That is, before the attack on Canterlot that was held by the savage Changelings. But, he could not sit around and let his life pass him by simply because of a traumatic experience. He knew he had to overcome his fears.

 

He slowly walked over to the other ponies. "H-hey, I heard you ponies are going on an adventure to help the princess? Would it be okay if I came along? If it helps, I used to be a Canterlot Guard, and fought in the invasion of Canterlot." Foami said in a timid, yet confident tone.

"We are searching for some very special jewels, called the Irisa Jewels. The first one is in the Everfree; I have a map, but if you could guide us to the spot, it would really help."

 

@, At the sound of another voice, Clover turned to face the new arrival. "You might as well come along," she said. After all, she had invited the first stranger so it would hardly be fair to turn away the other. And an ex royal guard would come in handy.

 

Introducing herself to both ponies, she added, "My name's Clover; I'm the Princess of Magic. This is Mariposa, and Snowflake, and Witty."

 

She waited for the others to introduce themselves.
