Possible Spelling Error?

I'm no expert, but shouldn't it say "This forum is led by"?

Dropping 'to be' verbs in this way is common enough to be considered a colloquial form of linguistics when the message is trying to convey simple information.

 

I find it amusing because professional or polished authors usually try and obliterate words like is and were in a sentence. I'm sure that isnt the reason why, but I like to think the person who wrote that text shared a common disdain for passive and soft verbs like 'is'.
