gaming Xbox One Emulators Are a Thing

So a couple of guys have found a way to get emulators running on the Xbox One using the Edge browser and OneDrive. Essentially how it works is you upload ROMs into your OneDrive (A Microsoft service) and you can play them through the NESBox on your Edge web browser from your Xbox One. It currently supports NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance. It's a pretty cool feature and I had a mate test it out to confirm it is a legitimate thing that does in fact work.

 

This is actually pretty cool, but no doubt Microsoft are probably going to shut this down. If not though, that'd be cool. Definitely a way to get more use out of your Xbox One, for sure.

I heard about this and it is cool... I'm not surprised though...because you can do this sort of thing on 'Droid, etc...

Oh right. So there is Xbox One emulators, but not 360 emulator! :=:

When I first read the titles I thought it was an Xbox One emulator itself.

 

About these though, I think Microsoft will most likely shut these down, but that shouldn't be a surprise. I have no interest whatsoever in these myself. It sounds a bit too loophole-ish to me.

It's always sad when stuff like this gets shut down. Just another sign that we don't own our technology, and the original creators can tell us what we're not allowed to do with it. Reminds me of when someone found a way to jailbreak the PS3.
