To control and/or ride horses are very clearly evidence of humans once existing there at some point, whether coexisting or dominating the ponies. What do you guys think? Why else would bits and saddles even exist? But in story explanation, they carry things on their backs and they control things with their mouths. So a saddle could be like a back pack, in addition to the saddle bags they have. HereComesTom 2,268 October 10, 2016 Share October 10, 2016 I don't think it's really likely humans were ever in Equestria, and here's why I say that: Twilight didn't seem to have any idea what she was when she became human in Equestria Girls. Knowing her, she'd be aware of any history humans had in Equestria, so the fact that she wasn't sure what she was hints that humans were never in Equestria. I can think of other uses for bits (i.e. the kinds of bits that go in ponies' mouths): we've seen ponies riding on carts that are being pulled by other ponies. For those, bits might be useful in giving direction to the ponies who are pulling the cart; it could be a useful thing if the rattling of the cart and their tack was too loud to hear any words of direction the driver would give them.
