Does the use of magic in the show even sense?

Season 2 Episode 22:

 

Twilight, Pinkie and Spike are hiding from the guards.

 

 

Season 6 episode 26:

 

Invisibillity spell.

 

 

Besides twilight is much stronger and more talented with magic than starlight .

 

It's just one example but have you ever noticed things like that?

 

I mean it's a child show yes but they should know that grown people notice things like that.

well, twilight back then in season 2 still wasn't the strongest unicorn. (right?  ...well compared to season 6) plus starlight seems to know a lot more complicated spells than twilight does (at least... what Ive seen)

 

and to answer your title question, yes it does make sense. just because your a unicorn, doesn't mean you know every spell out there. (or even that powerful)

It's a children's cartoon show so you can expect certain things to make absolutely no sense. Plus, I see it as more of a comedic effect as opposed to being taken as a serious idea.

In the first scenario, it was a case of, "Haha, look at the dumb guard, lol!"

 

The second scenario was a matter of, "Oh my gosh those Changelings are about to find them, they better hide quick!"

It’s really weird how Trixie doesn’t do any real magic whatsoever in season six

 

It also begs me how the show makes Twilight and Starlight the only unicorns (Seasons 1-3 for Twi) who can do any kind of spells while others don’t. It’s like having Harry Potter the only wizard who can do spells or having Anakin Skywalker the only one who can use the force
