Does G3 have a more interesting theme than G4?

I personally like it better. A bit much for every single episode, but I really like the ending and such.

 

 

What is your opinion on it?

All i know is that the G1 mlp shows is slightly darker than G4. But G3 seem much like happy-go-lucky compared the two,

G3 is a lot more difficult to determine a 'theme' for across the entire line since it wasn't a proper series. It was a couple of direct-to-video movies plus a collection of VCDs that were packaged with different toy sets. As such G3 was far more obvious about being toyetic than G4 has been, and was more fractured in terms of overall storytelling. On the other hand, individual 'episodes' did tend to be more on-point for morals, in my opinion.
