So I've gotten into playing these SNES games around lately and I noticed something.

 

Lufia 2, a SNES RPG where it seems like any other RPG but you can find these things called "capsule monsters."

Just like Pokemon you can make them evolve and change into a stronger form. In here you feed them certain items to make them evolve. They grow stronger as they fight alongside the party. 

 

And before anyone brings up "Capsule Monsters" as a concept that the creator had started as detailed in this wiki.

He said he had a hard time trademarking the name "Capsule Monsters," now why would that be? It's possible that Lufia 2 had already claimed that name. I find this very suspicious. Why? Because the fact that Lufia 2 had the monsters evolve and that they come out of capsules and Satoshi doing the same thing with them evolving...

 

Pokemon came out at 1996 and Lufia 2 was released on 1995 just to be clear.
