you should clarify what it is you mean. According to google, "animism" is: the attribution of a soul to plants, inanimate objects, and natural phenomena.

 

according to urban dictionary, "cartoonism" is creating cartoons. So, I'll go with that. My answer is no, because they already have animation courses and you'd have to get down to specifics if you're going to create a major out of it.

Not quite sure what you mean, to be honest. Many colleges have animation and cartoon majors. You can even major in comic books if you want. For example, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design has 'Comic Art' as a major.
