Potential Spike episodes?

I like that later seasons have been giving the little guy more respect and development, but there are potential plots left open for further development, I think.

 

Like Spike's baking ability. Why not have him hang with someone other than Twilight or Rarity, and put him in a baking competition, pitted against (or paired with) Pinkie and/or AJ?

 

Or with Fluttershy (and Ember), allowing Flutters to learn more on dragon culture, as she seemed interested in back in s1e1?

 

or Spike and AJ trying to piece together his family lineage, or going on epic quests to hunt down his dragon family?

 

Or Spike, Little Strongheart, Ember, and Thorax doing friendshippy things in a Sol episode?

 

Or CMC and Spike shenanigans?

 

Or even one of the princesses (Cadance, Luna, Sunbutt) with Spike doing things.

 

What do you guys think about potential Spike episodes?

In Princess Spike, I guess you can say he hangs out with Cadance for a majority of the time, and Dungeons and Discords he hung out with both Discord and Big Mac, and let's not forget the other two episodes last season with Ember and Thorax. As for AJ, there was AJ's Day Off, him and AJ shared an episode together. So he had plenty of episodes with other characters! I do agree that he spends way too much time with Twilight, but I don't think that's gonna change, as she needs him.

 

He'll have other episodes with other ponies soon! Next season, I can see one of these three things happening: an episode with Fluttershy, an episode with Starlight, or an episode with the CMCs. One of them is probably happening next season; two if we're lucky; all three... well let's overestimate ourselves. Dunno which ones are gonna happen.

 

If next season is a Scorpan arc, then Spike and Scorpan fo' sho will happen!

 

After all Spike did last season, they know what to do with him now, so we just gotta be patient!

I could see Spike going back to the Dragon Kingdom as a means of seeing Ember and perhaps learning more about his kind by asking her or another dragon about it. Despite being Dragon Lord for about thirty seconds, he did win the title so he would gain respect from his fellow dragons--Ember would have to remind anyone about it in case they didn't know. He could even develop some kind of common ground with Garble.

The last year or 2 they've recycled some plots.  So, perhaps a redo of Dragon Quest?  It's never really explained where his egg came from in the 1st place.  +I can see where Spike would want to know about his parents.
