ManaMinori 4,149 January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 So, in anticipation for the upcoming MLP movie, I really want to plan a day of fun things to do with a fellow pony friend, before (and after) going to see it. While I'm not quite sure how passionate this person is regarding the prismacolor ponies, as I am, I do want to try and get them into some of the wonderful fan-made creations a bit more than I've been teasing them with. (I've introduced them to some links to some fan-made songs in the past, and they really seem to like Lullaby for a Princess) Anyway, some ideas that I have (aside from binge-watching all 7 seasons of FiM) ...or just whatever episodes I have on like, 8 or 9 DVD's....I want to just rock out with them to Brony tunes, and I've also planned on possibly holding a Pony themed Bible study session. But there needs to be more activities. I don't want to take them to any conventions (too poor) or meetups (to avoid any potential unwholesome association). Can anyone offer any ideas on pony-related activities or things from the fandom's creative side, to share/ experience with them, for a FiM-themed day? 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
BlueBrony 388 January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 There are the pony anthologies, if you can find them, though they can be a little crass sometimes. There are also lots of fun analysis videos out there like from Silver Quill, ILoveKimPossibleALot and Antony C. Also FluffyMixer is pretty entertaining. StormXF3 does the fun "MLP in real life" videos. One time a couple of brony friends and I read some of the IDW comics together, each reading different characters with funny voices, which turned out to be quite fun. Something like "The return of queen chrysalis", "zen and the art of gazebo repair", or "neigh anything". There are some fun card games like Twilight Sparkle's Secret Shipfic Folder, or the official card game. If you want a good laugh about ridiculous OCs look up the comic "squishy and squashy" on deviantart. Hope these give you some ideas! That's cool that you are thinking about doing a bible study session with it. its not easy for me to talk about my faith among the brony community, but there are a lot of things you can take from the show that are a reflection of the teachings of the bible. I'd like to steer away from anything crass. And analysis, I don't think this fellow fan will take to. Want to avoid them, because so much analysis puts a negative opinion on the show and its characters. Cardgames, I don't know if they're an interest for this person. I guess I could introduce them to the dubbed IDW comics..... Steve Piranha 29,496 January 18, 2017 Share January 18, 2017 If Tails of Equestria, the official pony tabletop RPG is released before the movie, I think a couple of games with it are a good way to start http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/12/ninja-division-bringing-tails-of.html Sig by Discords
Johnny1226 14,674 January 18, 2017 Share January 18, 2017 It depends on the persons tastes, splurging episodes might be fun but there are other fanfics to enjoy everything from comedy's to darkfics and slice of life,I'm not sure if grimdarks would be good for this occasion but if there into gore and scary things then they might enjoy it.
