It's a good show, and that's coming from me, the most Critical, Cynical, and Skeptical Pony here! My advice to a first time viewer is that the first 2 episodes that open the series is... kinda boring actually. The third episode will basically get you familiar with the characters. If you want to jump to the good stuff I'd recommend the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Winter Wrap Up, Sonic Rainboom, Cutie Chronicles, and Party of One episodes since they're probably the best of Season 1!
