We know that he/she was Princess Platinum's royal advisor, much like how Starswirl was Sunbutt's magical advisor, and Luna's mentor, but that's about it. A popular theory (that I'm on the fence about) is that Twilight was Clover in her past life, but according to the IDW comics' "Reflections" arc, very heavily handed implies that Twilight turned out more like Sunbutt, rather than Starswirl. But back to Clover the Clever- is no one at all interested in this pony that remains more mysterious than Starswirl himself? Could Clover, possibly be related, somehow, to Mage Meadowbrook (who is only mentioned by SG, in "The Cutie Map", as being an Eastern Unicorn)? Could Meadowbrook be a descendant of Clover? A sibling?
