Status updates aren't working

I see others can do status updates, I saw the bar above to type into, when I click it it goes to my profile, but then I don't see the update bar or anything. I wanna talk about Rick and Morty season 3.

The easiest way to do this is on desktop. 

Click on the Create Text to the left of the notification icon

 

Click on the Status link from the option display box that comes up

 

You can't see this if you are on mobile (at least I haven't found it yet).

Are you clicking the little bar right below where it says "Recent Status Updates"? The bar that says "What's on your mind?"

Still hidden? I'll make two amendments to my post up there. 

 

I would be remiss if I didn't point out the possibility of your profile not being set up just right. 

If you see this (see the lack of Status Update as an option). 

 

Enter your Edit Profile screen by doing the following

 

Check to see if the Status Update 'switch' is on indicated by it being green. Try and switch it on. 

 

Then there is this possibility ... 

 

If you still can't create status updates, you should reach out to a Administrator (or possibly check your PM's). There is a feature that the higher staff have access to that can switch off status update creation for users, but you can still reply to status updates. If you have no notification from staff that you have had your status updates turned off, an Administrator can check the configuration.

Really, when I click the bar, which doesn't consistently show up, that's above the other status updates that says whats on your mind, it takes me to my profile where there is no option to type.

Actually trying to replicate that. This was what I did 

 

 

It is functioning at the moment, but I'll play with the browsers I use and see if I can't get it to break like it is for you. 

Have you tried the first method I mentioned? Does that work?

Yes it does, just took a while for the other comment to go through, its why I brohoofed your post.
