Would indifference or disdain be refreshing?

While ponies seem to hold the princesses in high regard (heck, we're even getting an episode where ponies pay for time spent with Twilight on a cruise), could a pony who doesn't care too much for her be a refreshing change of pace to have in an episode, and Twi has to resolve the "friendship problem" with this pony? Maybe a neighbor background pony who doesn't like the castle of friendship because it puts too much shade on her house and her flowers can't grow, or thinks Twilight and her friends think they're bigshots just because they saved the world, and this pony's good deeds toward others go unnoticed, or maybe just sees them as normal ponies who shows indifference to the hype that they get, in spite of their heroics and titles, because they don't put the mane 6 or Twilight specifically on a pedestal, as a princess. And while the problem doesn't get resolved by them being friends, maybe both parties just coming to a mutual understanding, and a bit more respect to each other and their positions could be satisfying conclusion. (with Twilight's position as a Princess, I would like to see her make a common background pony an honorary official something or other, and give that pony some importance, like she did with Pinkie, as official friendship ambassador...)

The theme sounds a lot like a recent Tangled episode. It would be an interesting moral.

I'll take your word for it being similar to Tangled's tv series, which I've never seen.

I like the idea. Maybe there is a parade for Twlilight or Celestia and some pony can't do his job because the street is closed. And it turns out he doesn't care about the princesses. He sees then as public servants who are over paid for their jobs.
