Vega 107 May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 So Luna and Celestia raise the moon and sun respectively to bring day and night to Equestria. So... what about the other side of the planet? Does anyone control the sun and moon over there? Do Luna and Celstia control the sun and moon for the other side of the planet as well? Is there even another side of the planet at all? Adro2503 121 May 18, 2012 Share May 18, 2012 There isn't any other side! They where wiped out because they never got the sun! Celestia is turning it off when it gets to the other side. This may not be true!! 3D generalist http://www.youtube.com/user/adro2503 http://adro2503.deviantart.com
Strafe 594 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 They probably control the earth's rotation but then again, this is a cartoon so who cares about logic. 1 "The Gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again." Radiance64 7,053 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 Equestria is obviously flat No it's not, there have been globes shown multiple times in the show. Plus, Chancellor Puddinghead has said the earth is round, so there.
letterone 1,204 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 The only plausible answer is that Equestria is part of a post-apocalyptic world where most of the planet is gone except for Equestria and it's small amount of surroundings. Seriously though, it's a cartoon. I really don't see why we should be wondering why the sun and moon only go up and down in Equestria. I mean, there's a whole lot more weird unrealistic stuff in the show! (see: Pinkie Pie physics) It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again... Z.J.A. 136 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 It's obvious, other ponies, in other parts of the world, raise the sun and moon for their parts...or it goes naturally elsewhere like in the everfree forest. If you want me to respond, please quote me. I apologize for any inconvenience but for the time being my MLP stop motion project is on hold. I used to be a stranger 7,993 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 (edited) Obviously Celestia and Luna have cousins that run a country that's essentially identical to Equestria on the opposite side of the planet. That way the planet only has 2 opposed synchronous timezones, as opposed to our linear progression of 23.9. They don't talk about those cousins though because she stole her ice cream that one time and they haven't made-up for it yet. JhonHipster 124 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 (edited) Obviously the equestrian universe is flat like medieval earth. All depections of the equestrian universe being round are wrong. Edited May 19, 2012 by jarrod989 lets hope this works
Vega 107 May 19, 2012 Author Share May 19, 2012 I like to think that there is a massively powerful goat on the other side who handles it. And that he rules a gigantic empire of goats bent on universal domination.
cuteycindyhoney 13,307 May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 The sun and moon are ancient constructs controlled by magic. They also seem to be rather close. In "Sonic Rainboom" Rarity literally did fly too close to the sun. You saw her actually begin to sweat before her wings went FOOM! Equestria does not share OUR world's feeble physical laws. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
