"But Aaappplejaaack!" Came the cute, whiny voice of a young filly, her hooves digging into the soft dirt as she was pushed forwards, inside the Apple family's house. Voice dripping with inserted cuteness, Applebloom tried to coax her sister out of it, but it was hardly any use. She had seen that trick before.

 

"No can do you little rascal," Applejack said sweetly but firmly, pushing the filly whom was half her size into the warm, welcoming main entryway of their house, and out from the cold, darkening night. "Ah'm in charge of you this weekend on account of Big Mac and Granny Smith being out helpin' some relatives of ours, so what I say goes."

 

"But I really, REALLY wanted to go crusaidering tonight!" Applebloom protested. Applejack closed the door behind her with her back hoof, and gave the puffer-fished face girl a chuckle.

 

"S'too dark for you to be our with y'er friends tonight, sugarcube." She said, guiding the filly into the main living room. "Besides, don'tcha wanna take advantage of having some quality time with your big sister?"

 

She nuzzled the younger pony's cheek, and Applebloom giggled.

 

"Well...I suppose so."

Right outside the barn, there was the sound similar to a mild jet swiftly flying throughout the air in multiple directions. It was Rainbow Dash, she was currently occupied with her typical sky-clearing cloud-kicking activities, except this is not the usual time.

 

She had been slacking off as always, believe it or not, more than often than usual. She is known to be lazy at times, but this time she went a bit too far. She was doing said duties every morning when necessary to always assure that Ponyville's skies are nice and clear when needed. It was just now that she felt the uncanny, yet unfortunate urge to take her somewhat-slacking trait up a notch too far, and she was unintnetionally informed by Ponyvillean gossip that ponies were beginning to call her the laziest pony in Ponyville. That didn't bother her until recently, where in her past few sleeps, she started to have nightmares about her reputation being ruined, something that she was horrified with the thought of, asleep or awake.

 

She started to yawn, feeling only a slight feeling of fatigue. “I need to get some rest eventually, but I should've done this a lot earlier!” Frustrated by her own actions and mistakes that led her to this situation, she tried her best to put it beside her. Clouds were all over the place, scattered in so many different areas, sometimes stray, sometimes in big clumps. “Oh well, at least no one will think I'm lazy, or even dislike me for that matter.” She eagerly finished off the group of clouds around Town Hall. She wiped a bead of sweat off her face, as she'd been working for about an hour or two. Not only is she getting tired from the long work period as well as the time, 9:24 PM, she was also suffering from skight lack of experience and enthusiasm caused from her overly-put off hiatus!

Just as Applejack had corralled her sister onto the couch and had begun to curl up with her on the warm, soft fabric, the mare's ear twitched. She heard...a jet-like sound. Immediately, the bright orange pony looked about at the nearest window.

 

"Rainbow...? What in tarnation is she doing around these parts so late for?" Applejack said to herself more than anything, her soft, blonde tail flicking about in sudden curiosity and anticipation. "She always finishes her sky patrol in the late afternoon."

 

"...Rainbow get's to do what she wants late at night..." Applebloom muttered under her breath. Little did she know she was taunting the gator while in his mouth, so to speak, sitting as she was amidst her sister's clutches.

 

"Rainbow isn't a little filly who needs to be watched all the time." Applejack said back. Winking and smiling playfully, she dug her hoof into the younger pony's tummy and tickled her. Her real attention, however, was on Rainbow. Was she just running late on her duties? Or was it something else? Curiosity had the better of her, and whilst Applebloom giggled and squirmed under her sister's rubbing hoof, Applejack continued to space out and gaze out the window, waiting for a burst of rainbow colors and blue.

The repetitiveness of continuously doing basically the same task over and over started to get to Dash, among the other fatigue symptoms. “Man, this sure is less tiring when I normally do this.” She was just near the Apple's farmhouse in the usally-tranquil Sweet Apple Acres. There were some extra puffs of cloud here and there in this area, and so that meant some good extra work for Dash.

 

“Man, this will never be done,” she shouted in frustration, but not too loudly, for the weariness was really getting to her. She kept on struggling as she was now, instead of focusing the power if her kicks on individual clouds, just decided to start flying through them as fast as she could, hopefully to spread them with enough force to clear them up.

 

She looked down and saw the barn, which reminded her of one of her 5 closest and best friends. This made her feel more eager- “Can't...let....Applejack...have.....dark...sky,” her vocabulary and train of thought were going down as well. At this point, there were a good few patches of clouds in the sky, but not enough to claim the job done. Her flying was getting slower, and she was starting to fade away. As she was approaching the last cloud, she turned around to deliver one final, powerhouse kick, but then she missed, and the power (well, more the lack of fatigue mixed with unnecessary excersize), was definitely not enough, and she was knocked out. As she fell asleep, her wings stopped fluttering and came back into place, and she fell through the clouds and was heading straight towards Sweet Apple Acres, the farmhouse where Applejack and Apple Bloom were watching the Pegasus, to be more exact.

"Alright you little rascal, had enough yet?" Applejack had just barely managed to say, having turned her focus to torturing her adventure-seeking sister with relentless tickling, when the sound of a horrendous crash came blasting through the open window. The two ponies jumped, and Applebloom shot straight off the couch and onto her feet, eyes wide and full of both confusion and excitement.

 

"Whoa! What was that, Applejack?"

 

"I dunno...but I hope it's not what I think it is. Come on!" AJ said firmly, her bright green eyes having gone from relaxed playfulness to alert seriousness. She bolted off the couch and opened the front door, holding a small flashlight in her mouth. She walked around the sides of the barn cautiously, probing the bright yellow light through the dark shadows of the trees. Applebloom trotted in tow, keeping close to the older pony and trying to aid in the search. Eventually, the flashlight caught a rainbow tail sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the scenery.

 

"Oh shoot," Applejack said, frowning and tossing the flashlight to her sister. "Applebloom, keep that on Rainbow, I need to see if she's okay."

 

The pegasus pony was soon being attended to completely by the caring earth pony. Applejack didn't see any wounds, but Dash had obviously passed out from exhaustion...and her right wing looked awfully hurt. After a few attempts at waking her up and receiving nothing but ear twitches and a shallow grunt, Applejack dug her head under the ponies' underbelly, and launched her up onto her back, to carry her. She turned to Applebloom, and was smiling again.

 

"Alright, excitement's over, back inside with us."

 

"Is Rainbow gonna stay here with us?" The filly asked curiously, shining a light on the blue pegasus and blinking curiously with big eyes.

 

"For the time being, yes." AJ responded, turning to look at her load and smiling. "Her wing looks hurt, but she seems otherwise fine. I think she just needs some rest, so I reckon staying here to rest up is better than trying to lug her over to the hospital. Now come on, now."

 

The two apple siblings brought the lone pegasus back inside the warm house, and closed the door behind them.

It was a very dark, slow, and painful night. 10 hours of uncertainty and confusion. Dash may have just taken a mere fall, from what could've been worse, but the Pegasus has been taken over by worry of ruined charisma and respect from her friends, and she didn't want to leave anypony, especially in Ponyville, with an unnecessarily-cloudy sky, as it was scheduled to be clear for the whole week. Rainbow bit off more the she could chew with her unexpected lazy streak; despite the fact that she wasn't the only Pegasus in Ponyville who was on weather patrol, she was the one with the most responsibility, and her laziness finally got to her...

The sun peaked through the wooden, old-fashioned front window of the farmhouse, where sunlight eventually started to flood the house. Rainbow was, what appeared to be sleeping, by herself, in her own special bedroom reserved for guests, while Applejack and Apple Bloom were peacefully snoozing in their own indivual rooms. As the sunbeams touched her face ever so gently, Rainbow twitched a little bit, than slowly opened both of her eyes. “Hm....oh....ohhh.....”, she mumbled. She barely moved at all, in fact, she barely even moved a muscle that this point, which is strange because being Rainbow Dash, the instant you wake up you'd fell energetic, ready to start another exciting day. “Where....where...am I.....”, she said under her breath. She admittedly wasn't feeling energetic, but the nap did provide some deperately-needed recovery. Well, emphasis on some.

 

She soon felt a bit more awake, and looked around. There was nothing familiar about this place, it looked like the inside of a log cabin, with the scenery and environment of somepony's home. After pondering, she decided it must be Applejack's farmhouse. What...what am I doing at Applejack's place?! she wondered. She then started to out of the bed, but then she heard hoofsteps coming closer. Rainbow quickly turned around, as she could've sworn there was two ponies right outside the door, accompanied two familiar voices.

"I think she's awake! Let's go inside already, Applejack! I bet she's hungry!"

 

"Now you just hold your hooves, sugarcube. It's gonna take a bit for Rainbow to recover. She'll eat when she wants to eat. Now you run along now."

 

The two voices were no doubt Applejack and Applebloom, and after a moment, there was a disappointed 'ahhhh!' and the trotting of small hooves down the hallway. The earlier pony slowly opened the bedroom door and poked her head in. Her green eyes and blonde mane caught Rainbow's attention, and AJ smiled warmly at seeing her friend finally awake.

 

"Hey there Dashie, ya feelin' okay?" Applejack said with a smirk, using the pet name that Pinkie Pie had christened Rainbow shortly after they had all become friends and met Twilight Sparkle. She loved to tease Rainbow with it. She walked over to the bed and looked down at her friendly rival. "From the sounds, you dropped out of the sky harder than rocks off an avalanche. But sides' your wing being a little hurt, you seem just peachy to me."

Somehow, everything that just happened seemed to sink in Rainbow's memory (which she thankfully still had after the seemingly-horrible incident), and just like that eveything else fell into place.

 

"A...a...Applejack..?..” She looked hyper as usual, but she sounded tired enough to fall asleep right there for another 10 hours. But this was Rainbow Dash, she wanted to forget about sleep, and wanted to get out and do something, right after she could figure out what the hay was going on here. Not too energetic overall, she asked “Applejack, what...what happened?” She started to begin feeling a tad panicked, looking around here and there. “Wh-what am I doing here? D-did I clear out all of the clouds?!”, her attention immediately turning to her unfinished work. “I gotta get outta here! I gotta finish off the rest of the clouds!”

 

Without thinking or letting Applejack respond to her frantic friend, she quickly jumped off the bed, started galloping towards the open window, then within a split second, she collapsed on the ground from her low energy levels. “Ow!!....ugh...” she groaned. She was still awake, but she apparently couldn't get her energy levels up too high at this point.

"Whoa whoa whoa missy, what do you think you're doin'?" Applejack asked sternly, going over and tugging Rainbow back towards the guest bed by grabbing her tail in her teeth. "Nyou need you nbed rest." She muttered, before letting her go, and motioning to the bed with the same stubborn eye that she gave her little sister. "You're way too weak to be even thinkin' about your duties right now. Didn't I just tell ya' your wing is hurt, and you're exhausted? Let all yer' other pegasus friends take care of the sky for today. Even 'the great and almighty Rainbow Dash' needs some rest and relaxation sometimes."

 

The earth pony once again tossed the pegasus onto her back and let her fall off onto the bed with a plop. She then smirked and winked at her. "Now I'll be glad to fill ya in, but if you try to skedaddle again I'll just have to pin ya down, ya hear?"

 

Applejack leaned on the bed post and looked out the window.

 

"Now, long story short, I was just settlin' Applebloom down to go to sleep with me on the couch for the night last night, when you suddenly came crashin' down in our backyard. We came out n' brought ya in, and you've been sleepin' ever since." She recalled. "Now, I'm dead-set on makin' sure you buckle yourself down and relax today. Me and Applebloom are home alone this weekend since Granny Smith and Big Mac are out of town, so you just sit back and take your time. Heck, maybe you can even come be social and spend some quality time with us."

 

She winked to her friend and nodded towards the door. "Now, are you hungry at all?"

Rainbow was trying to make sense of what was happening. She looked down in dissapointment as she realized that she once again let her egoism get the best of her. She felt bad... “I'm...sorry, AJ...I know I get myself worked up sometimes...I was just worried about losing my friends support and attention...I guess that all went to my head....thanks for helping me out, I can always trust my best friends, and I should never forget that...” She looked down as a single tear emerged from her eyes.... In an instant, she put her mistakes behind her, and went straight to the point.

 

“Now, you were saying something about me being hungry, I've eaten in a....” Just then her stomach grumbled, with that a blush appeared on her face. “Heheh...um..I guess I am a little bit starved.”

Applejack's expression and aurora changed once more, and she had gone from stern and friendly to happy and excited. She smiled to the azure pegasus and helped her get out of bed without pushing down on her hurt wing. She patted her with her hoof, then lead her out of the bedroom.

 

"Nah, no need to apologize, or for the tears, sugarcube," She said warmly. "Don't you fret none, your always gonna be the greatest young flyer in Equestria, all ya gotta do is relax once in a while that's all. Heh, just take a day off to hang out with Applebloom n' I, it'll be fun!"

 

The two ventured down the stairs and into the kitchen, where a cute, bow-tied Applebloom was sitting at the table. She instantly smiled brightly at the sight of the blue pony, and threw her hooves up in the air.

 

"Hey Rainbow! You're up! So is it true? Are you gonna have a sleepover all day with us?"

 

Applejack chuckled to herself and began to get some food together. While turning on the stove, she looked over her shoulder and smiled.

 

"Heh, now Applebloom I want her to stay here as long as needed, but whether that means a full day, or two days, or less than a day, that's up to her."

Rainbow was in a momentary trance from thinking about food; a huge lack of eating was a result from all of the hectic amount of work she put up with the past couple days. Her mouth agape, even drooling a bit, she shook her said and said “Oh, I mean, uh..yeah, of course I'm going to be staying with you guys! I don't think I'd miss out on any chance to hang out, even though I'm not much into this sleepover stuff....then again, I never really had one...I guess I'll just have to see.” she said under her breath, “I think we're going to have a blast!”

 

“So, what's for breakfast?!”, she said, as she immediately sprung to the spare seat at the kitchen table with a beaming smile on her face.

Applejack beamed right back for the briefest of moments, then trotted over to the fridge and smiled brightly as she hunted around through it's contents. Applebloom grinned and joined the pegasus in her excitement.

 

"Whatever you'd like, Rainbow." AJ said dainty. "We got eggs, I can make some bacon, or maybe some omelets. Heh, you'd think we'd have nothin' but apples, but lately I've been trying to change the breakfast schedule round here to a wider variety. So take your pick, you're our guest after all!"

 

"Yeah! Then maybe after breakfast you can come with Applejack and I to the Cutie Mark Crusader Clubhouse Meeting!" Applebloom exclaimed. "Applejack was already planning on coming along, but now you can come too! I bet Scootaloo will pass out when she see's her idol walk into our tree house! In fact, I bet she'll-Hey!"

 

Suddenly, Applebloom found an orange hoof placed against her head, and another one hugging her from around the chair, keeping her stuck. Rubbing back and forth firmly, Applejack shook her head and pretended to sigh in exasperation.

 

"You're gonna tire out poor Rainbow all day with one thing after the other, ain'tcha?" She teased.

 

"Nu uh! You're not playing fair! You can't sneak up on an unsuspecting pony like that!" Applebloom protested, still giggling happily nonetheless.

 

"I'm your big sister, I get special privileges. Not playin' fair is one of em!"

Rainbow smirked. They look really happy together, and they're always having a good time...no matter what kind of situation....but I guess that's what two good sisters always do...anyways...I guess I better tell her what I want.

 

“Hey, Applejack, I think I would like some eggs...and maybe some bacon to, it's been a while since I've had that.” She had become a tiny less bit excited than earlier, but it's nowhere near to being noticeable at this point. In fact, Rainbow was really happy to see two good sisters having fun, and doing the things families do together, because it was a thing that she doesn't really get to do, not living with any of her family at all.

 

“Oh, and some apple juice would be good for a drink! Oh, and don't you worry about tiring out my schedule, guys, as long as it doesn't really involve flying, I think I can do all I want today.”

"Comin' right up!" Applejack responded gleefully, releasing her younger sister and returning to the fridge, to begin making eggs and bacon, as well as receiving apple juice. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Rainbow's expression, and pondered what it could mean. She had a decent hypothesis...but for now, it was time for every pony to have something to eat.

After five or seven minutes, the smell of bacon, eggs and fresh white toast with butter filled the entire kitchen, and all three ponies took their time in eating, whilst also discussing what they could do today. Most of it coming in happy outbursts from Applebloom, in rapid succession. AJ and Rainbow would exchange glances, nod at the possibilities of some, and giggle at others.

 

"Alright then," Applejack sad, finishing her own food and laying back in her chair, bobbing a toothpick around in her mouth with just her tongue. "Soon as ya'll are done, we'll head on over and Rainbow and I can oversee the ongoings of your cute little group, k Applebloom?"

 

"Cute? We're a serious secretive organization, not 'cute', Applejack!" Applebloom said, jumping down from her chair and proceeding to trot around the dinner table, watching as Rainbow too began to finish her food. "Alright alright, come on come on! Let's go!"

 

The young filly was soon out the door, holding it open and impatiently watching the two older girls as they got up from their seats. AJ cleared the table and set the dishes away in the washer, then began to walk towards the door with her friend.

 

"Trust me, it is cute, and not at all secretive." She whispered in hush tones to Rainbow in a giggle, as they walked out the front door. Applebloom hadn't heard them, and happily pranced down one of the many wide paths that lead throughout the orchard. The one that lead to the Cutie Mark Crusader's Clubhouse.

On their way to the clubhouse, Rainbow was contemplating on her decisison. Darn, I kinda wish I didn't agree to this....ugh...what's so special about a dumb meeting.....and now that I think about it, I am already feeling a little bit depressed today.....and Apple Bloom and Applejack look....just so happy....just so happy to be sisters...I kinda wish I had that kind of attention..., she thought as she started to walk with a slight droop, with slight depression, now added with seemingly upcoming boredom.

 

As they reached the clubhouse, a tiny little happy-go-lucky Pegasus filly jumped out of the entrance in front of the house before the group could ever become within five feet from it. “Hey, guys, I'm glad you made it!”, she said with a very enthusiastic squee sound. “Sweeti--” she gasped when quickly and easily recognized her one true idol, Rainbow Dash. “I....I....IT'S YOU!!” She nearly fainted from all the energy and excitement she was feeling. Looking around, not really noticing her frenzied fan, Rainbow asked “Hey, kid, where's the third one...? There are three, aren't there...?”

 

“Oh, you mean Sweetie Belle? Oh, yeah, I was just about to say, she was busy doing some fancy clothes shopping with her big sister...seemed pretty important when she told me that. She says that sisters always have to stay together, in any kind of situation. Whatever that means, heh, I'm not really into that ooey-gooey love stuff....”, even thinking about it almost made her eyes roll.

 

Just then Dash had an idea- That's it!!! If I can get Applejack to see that I'm in need of a good sister as much as anypony who doesn't have one, I bet she'd come running to me when she feels bad for me! It's the perfect solution! And the only way to do that is show that I can be as an affectionate pony as anypony in Equestria! Everypony was just starting at Rainbow, who had this stupid smile on her face. Coming to, she quickly looked around. “Huh..oohhoh, I mean er...um....what...were we doing here, again...?....kid...?” The awkwardness was immeasurable.

 

“O....kay...so, who wants to get this meeting started?” Scootaloo chimed as she was followed by everypony else into the clubhouse, Rainbow still with the excited look on her face.

"Well ain't that nice, Rainbow's lookin' a lot more happy than she was five minutes ago." Applejack thought to herself, standing out of the way as Scootaloo and Applebloom commenced with the official singing of the Cutie Mark Crusader's theme song as their own national anthem. The orange earth pony laid down and put her head onto her hooves, watching as her sister and her friend went through their rounds.

 

"We gotta come up with our own personal flag!" Applebloom exclaimed loudly, raising her hand. "We have a theme song, we have a clubhouse, but we need a noticeable, clear flag to put on top of it."

 

"Now there's an idea, nice thinkin' Applebloom." AJ added in, her eyes closed, but she was smiling and listening intently all the same. The pony was still keeping a close eye on her own friend. She couldn't help but notice that Rainbow had been darting her quick glances now and then...huh. What was she thinking? For now, Applejack simply remained in her corner of the main floor, and listened as Scoot and Applebloom discussed a possible flag design.

“Hm...hey, Apple Bloom, remember those awesome capes that Sweetie Belle made for us when we had a sleepover at Fluttershy's cottage? Y'know, the ones with gold on 'em? I think we could make something like that with the emblem as our flag? Wouldn't that be awesome?!”

 

“Y-yeah..g..great idea, squirt!”, Rainbow blurted out. Everypony's attention immediately went to her again. With an awkward smile, she looked down and scratched that back of her head. “Y...yeah....so..uh...any...um..crusading you guys do lately?” With a smile and chuckle, Applejack's attention went back to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. “Oh boy, I planned out this one!”, Scoot piped up. She was always happy to tell everypony about the Cutie Mark Crusaders’ numerous attempts to gain the symbols that stood for their purposes in life, even though they have never succeeded. It was because she loved adventure, and she, as well as her crusading friends, are always willing to never give up.

 

“So, we were wondering if our cutie marks could be in reading and writing, so instead of studying our work from school, we decided to head over to Twilight's house, because we know she has all the best books! When we got there, we told Twiligt we were really excited to write an amazing story that would blow everone's mind, even Twilight's! She laughed after that, I don't know why... Anyways, she told us a few rules on how to write a good story, and then she left us with these writing tools, and some ink. We were...actually not good at it, I had a hard time picking up the feather pen, Sweetie Belle couldn't really figure out how to deal with the paper folding itself, and Apple Bloom spilled ink all over the floor...now that I think about it...” She and Apple Bloom burst out laughing on the floor.

 

While Scootaloo was telling her story, a dissapointed and slightly embarrassed Rainbow was thinking to herself. That definitely didn't work out as planned...I just gotta find a better chance...

Is she doin' what I think she's tryin to do? Applejack thought to herself, cocking one eyebrow and glancing at Dash with a mix of curiosity and amusement. Yeah...it had to be it. There was no way Rainbow'd be going out of her way like that, for any other reason. I've got a vague idea of whatch'er up to Rainbow, and it sure is adorable. The earth pony thought to herself. She chuckled and looked back at the two young fillies. They were so passionate and full of energy, and it never ceased to amaze her.

 

"But yeah, those would be perfect for our flag!" Applebloom concluded on the previous subject, once Scoot had finished her story. The young bow-tied filly jumped up and down in place. "We gotta go work on some design possibilities for it now! I bet we can get Sweetie Bell get Rarity to help us design the best looking flag EVER!"

 

"Sounds like a splendid idea to me," Applejack said, stretching and getting up. "Ya'll can have Rarity do the physical creation, and until then, you can come up with specific blue-prints for the symbol you want on it."

 

Applejack looked at Rainbow out of the corner of her eye, and waited. She had decided to herself, that if Rainbow did what she thought she was doing, she'd try again for sure. Careful not to draw Rainbow's attention, Applejack observed her carefully.

Dash couldn't wait any longer for another chance, she wanted to make the most out of the moment! “Hey...uh....kid, watch out!” Everyone in the room quickly gazed at Dash in confusion, all of them- except Applejack, slyly amused- blurting out a loud “Huh?!”

 

Rainbow bolted towards the surprised little filly who quickly got out of the way. Rainbow then was continuously pounding and stepping on a small piece of black lint that she somehow located in the corner of the room.

 

“Uh....Rainbow....what are you doing...?” Scootaloo couldn't help asking.

 

After tossing the poor piece of lint out the window, she now looked back to the group innocently, and then proudly, as if she did something good or heroic. Striking a usual Rainbow Dash-esque heroic pose, she said “I just uh....saved...um, your life from...um...that....that horrifying spider! Yeah that's it, that uh...spider...that was going to....eat....eat you, yes, eat you! And some or was me who saved your life, I guess that makes us good friends now, right?” Everyone looked and felt very confused.

 

The little Pegasus started slowly walking backwards looking back. “Yeah...um....than--?” “Oh, come here, kid!” Rainbow immediately grabbed the filly and started hugging her and giving her noogies galore. Rainbow at this time had the wierd look on her face (think Twilight's Lesson Zero face).

Applejack could hardly keep herself together. While she watched Rainbow awkwardly go about her randomness, she stood there puffed cheeks, trying not to giggle. Applebloom, standing next to her, looked confused, but nonetheless was chuckling at the sight of a completely bewildered and confused Scootaloo as she was held and huggled by the blue pegasus.

 

"Uhh...Dash? What are ya doin?" Applebloom asked, chuckling and stifling herself along with her sister. Scootaloo looked on incredulously at them, wondering if this was a prank they were all in on or something. What the heck was Dash doing?...

 

"Awww, ain't that cute, Applebloom?" AJ said smiling, offering some support, knowing that Dash was probably about to be rejected by the filly. Applebloom blinked a few times and then chuckled.

 

"Ah' think so, but her face is a bit funny lookin', hehe!"

Dash almost panicked, unsure if her mission was a success or a failure at this point. But to her, it was more likely the latter. Without hesitating, she tried to show more signs of affection, just in case if they were teasing her.

 

Confused, and a tad bit annoyed, Scootaloo escaped the grasps of her ironically interested idol. “Rainbow, stop it! What...what are you doing....? You're starting to freak me out here....”

 

“Ohhh, d-did I do that..?! Oh, sorry, I can get like that sometimes...I mean you know with all that lack of doing my usual weather patrol stuff, and y'know, kinda driving me nuts here, hehehe....” She walked slowly back to her orginal sitting spot once again, with a very blank and sweaty expression on her face, her attention back to the two fillies as if she were signaling them to continue on with the meeting a usual. This definitely isn't working out as planned, that was stupid! Now, I just only a small chance this time... she thought, waiting patiently for another opportunity.

Uh oh, better get her' outta here before Scootaloo starts thinking differently on idolizing her, heaven forbid...

 

"Hey, Rainbow, let's leave em' be for now, huh?" Applejack said suddenly, standing up and heading towards the door, nodding out and smiling warmly at the pesgasus, whom was trying so hard. "Besides, I wanna talk to you about somethin'."

 

The orange earth pony left the building, jumped down onto the ground, and awaited for Rainbow to follow, knowing she would.

“Oh....okay...yeah, right behind ya.” The depressed mare had finally given up, and agreed to follow her friend. Right before she left, she turned back and apologized- “Hey, uh....kid...I'm...sorry about all that stuff back there...I just have had a crazy, crazy day, and I'm guessing it finally caught up to me....you..you understand, right?” The filly just looked back at her with a wierd expression. Not wierd as in consfued, she had complete knowledge of the situation, it's just what happened in that situation that made her feel blank, no pun intended.

 

“Alright, well, I kinda have to go....see ya later, kid!” Rainbow quickly ran off, catching up with her friend and her little sister, also she was interested on what AJ had to say, but she didn't really feel enthusiastic based on how her day was going in general.

The orange pony smiled, and walked out of view from the clubhouse of the CMC. Once they had gone for a bit, and Rainbow had begun to poke at her at what she wanted to talk about, AJ smiled and laid down against a tree, keeping her emerald colored eyes on her friend. Rainbow had stopped, but remained standing.

 

"That was plum adorable what you were tryin' to do in there, sugarcube." She said winking. She then laughed at Rainbow's clear reaction face of 'how did you know!?'. "But what's even more adorable is that you're not proficient on how to be affectionate. Which in some ways I don't find too surprising, given ya don't have yourself a sister who you can practice on."

 

Applejack chose her words carefully. She mentioned that last line on purpose, and judging by the pegasus' reaction, she was correct on her thoughts. Awwww, so that was what was bugging her, wasn't it?

 

"How bout' you come on here and I can try and help ya understand," She said. "It's alright, I won't bite or tickle you or anything, less you start first of course!" She giggled and put her hooves behind her head against the tree trunk.
