Let's talk about genders

I submit that individuality and collective identities are not mutually exclusive concepts where one cancels out the other, or rather one eliminates the other. This is one of those things where you can have your cake and eat it too. 

I do believe that gender, nationality, tradition, race, religion, and culture are abstract concepts that are simplified. Our species has an inherent ability to recognize patterns in the observable world, so we naturally ascribe meaning to them. We do categorization and fundamental observation phenomenally because of evolution. 

Some are more nebulous abstractions than others though. For instance, gender and sex are linked to some degree (what degree that is happens to be a matter of contentious debate these days). 

Traditionis more easily separated or replaced depending on what level of tradition we are talking about. Family? Individual? Regional? I have a sports based traditional rite before Eagles games that only myself and my father adhered to. There is a definite psychology behind this, but part of that psychology is biological, or at least its effects are. However, breaking that tradition is completely within my control. In fact ... no Jersey this upcoming game. See ... individuality is preserved.

While I don't fault the OP for their intentions behind the creation of this topic, the way it's worded doesn't make for great discussion and lays out too many assumptions. As such I'll be locking this.
