ChakinYme 0 May 21, 2012 Share May 21, 2012 I really just signed up to post my plight. I seemed to have contracted the dreaded CUTIE POX! Either that or my face is launching a PR campaign for sunspot supremacy! It all started one day when I woke up and noticed a very very light sun spot blemishing my otherwise untarnished cheek. I bemoaned it's existence to my boyfriend who, after closer inspection, burst out laughing! "It's NOT funny!" I whined, searching the fridge for the lemon juice. "But Honey!" he continued, "Its in the shape of a HEART!" Confused and curious, I went back into the bathroom to inspect my new spot farther. It was, in fact, shaped like a perfectly symmetrical heart. My boyfriend adores it, has declared it to be a cutie mark, and wishes that I wouldn't try so hard to remove it. Fast forward a few weeks. Sunscreen application had gone up 100%. Regular application of lemon and mint juice has lightened things up a bit, but I can still see a shadow of it. In fact, my skin is getting pretty pale in general despite the fact that I'm outside a lot. Then I see it... on my OTHER cheek... a new sun spot.. IN THE SHAPE OF A FLOWER! A friggin' perfect DAISY! So, I must admit, I'm laughing at this point. On one cheek I'm sporting a heart. On the other I'm donning a daisy. What are the odds?! So I either have contracted the rare and mysterious CUTIE POX! Or my face is running a propaganda campaign against me. Anyhow... I'm off to the store to buy even stronger sunblock to guard against the inevitable inclusion of stars and rainbows... honestly I don't think my face has that much real estate left!! If this doesn't work, my only other option is zebra witchcraft... Halp!! (And now to drop the science: the most likely scenario that would cause these highly symmetrical spots to appear in a similar range and spacing would be the light scattering through my strong prescription glasses, which have lenses of two different strengths... OR MAYBE ITS PONIES!!)

ChakinYme 0 May 22, 2012 Author Share May 22, 2012 Thank you for the warm welcome. Maybe it is aliens....... O.o! A bit about me: I am an independent artist of multiple disciplines. I do enjoy bike commuting, which is where I get most of my sun exposure :/. I like the show and find it adorable, although I can honestly say that it hasn't influenced my art much. I have been trying to recruit co-workers... little luck... lolz! Why o why am I afflicted with the cutie pox?! I wouldn't even begin to guess what my "special talents" are as indicated by the iconography of the daisy and heart... It would be more awesome if I was sporting a hammer or a torch! That might make sense... but flowers and hearts?! Just file that under the craft section of a hobby store with all the other over-used, unimaginative and ubiquitous leavings of lazy design. XP....
