JonasDarkmane 19,785 April 2, 2018 Share April 2, 2018 Do you mean if someone who intends to spam creates an account on mlpf? It is a bit hard to predetermine whether a new user has malicious/unfunny intent until they have committed to their violation. If it is someone who has been banned before, it is something only the mods can look into. Best we can do is be on the lookout for any spamming (or other kinds of violations) and report it when we witness it. Reporting is the best tool to alert the mods to problems which they can then take a look at and take care of. Hacker is something different though and it would be best to report or PM a mod over any suspicion of someone hacking. You can not predetermine that either though. 1 Signature by @Kyoshi Ask Me Matsunaga Hisahide's death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKT5Khp3-0U
Jeric 46,851 May 31, 2018 Share May 31, 2018 MLPF Administration and our sysops team have taken preventative action to cut down on spam bot accounts, however nothing is ever a guarantee so in the event of spam, please report the post to forum staff. Hacking, is something in general that every org that runs an online presence should be concerned about. Rest assured that we do take security seriously on all of our sites, though we (for obvious reasons) don't disclose publicly how we action security threats. From the users perspective, many would not be able to discern the difference between a server outage and a DDOS attack. Same would exist with various types of security breaches. Should there be one, our goals would be to secure, investigate, and follow best practices and compliance requirements like any legitimate online organization.
