I came to this website while looking for advice today on how to tell my parents i'm a brony. Well now i have to ask should i tell my mom or just keep it a secret? Also if i do tell her how should I?

That being said, who actually cares about if someone likes ponies.

 

You going all "Mom, I like MLP" will only lead to long explanations that do not actually resolve anything.

And fer chrissakes, it's a TV show. I doubt your mom cares that you watch something from the TV unless it's something hyper-violent.

 

IMO, there is no reason to tell or even for YOU to care about "telling".

Ooh. That's a tough one. I personally think you should tell your mother, or at least let her find out. When my family found out, I was just extremely relieved (it was like a weight was taken off my chest), and they were okay with it. As for telling her, I'm not sure how to do that. It's not like you're telling her that you have cancer, or that you are leaving to Canada to join the Mounties. My family just sort of found out, so, maybe just start quoting the show, or don't rush to hide the show or fan-art when she walks in the room.

Those are good ideas. Just to let you see how secretive i am... I am typing htis while she is home, quiet as i can and ready to clost the internet explorer if she comes in my room. That is how secretive i am.

You can't really start a serious conversation about being a brony.

 

The way your parental figure will find out will either be from catching you watching the show or from you asking for or buying pony merch from a store or online or some such thing (if you ever do that). If something like that happens then your parent will likely ask, "You like My Little Pony?" and you can nonchalantly and without shame answer, "Yes." And there you have it. Problem solved.

 

Just don't hide it and all will fall into place.

Honestly, you like the show and that is all that matters. She is your mum, I don't believe she would see you any differently if you just told her. You can always give a few reasons like excellent animation, good storyline and great characters. There will be teasing, yes, but I'm pretty sure she would not judge you on your personal taste in T.V shows.
