Goat-kun 2,531 October 1, 2020 Share October 1, 2020 To add a bit of salt, here's a conspiracy theory worthy of a water filter: canon bat ponies are 100% fake cause if bat ponies were actually canon then Luna would look even more like an entitled bitch. Though, feel free to put this theory on its head

Luna probably felt unappreciated in general. Think of how their jobs are shown in "A Royal Problem", Celestia's job is shown to be out and about with the public often, talking to ponies, going to events, smiling and waving. Meanwhile, Luna's job is shown to be much more solitary, she works during night, when most ponies are asleep, much less interaction with the public. She could have seen the way the ponies adoringly treat her sister during the day, and felt like they never gave her the same treatment, even if the night was just as important, she didn't feel like the ponies of Equestria thought so. They all wanted to be awake during the day, and spend time with her sister, and sing the praises of Celestia. It wasn't about how important or not her contributions were, it was about feeling underappreciated and like her important contributions were ignored, like their citizens loved Celestia and the day so much more than her and her night. Sadly I feel like Luna is still not getting the appreciation Celestia honestly. Yes, Luna is getting some attention now but problem is its still not enough as Celestia's. Like Luna is still in Celestia's shadow. And episodes such as "Horse Play" really doesn't help, like that play celebrating Celestia raising the sun but nothing for Luna raising the moon despite its just as important as raising the sun. And the Summer Sun Celebration, even if its celebrating Luna's return now, is still showing preference of DAY over night. The Festival Of The Two Sisters that Twilight pulled did not address the "damages" there. Really.. Luna should have gotten a Winter Moon Festival maybe.(Nightmare Night doesn't count due to its focusing more on Luna's darker self and it doesn't have a dramatic moon rising like how there is for the sun for the Summer Sun Celebration)

Jealousy is like a cancer and cannot be easily removed. It grows and consumes the heart. Celestia was basking in the love of her subjects and didn’t think how it was affecting Luna until it was too late. Both were new to ruling and rarely talked because of their schedules. “Soon did that poney discover that others did not give her sister her due. And neither had she loved her as she deserved. She watched as her sister’s unhappiness grew. But such is the way of the limelight that sweetly takes hold of the mind of its host. And that foolish poney did nothing to stop the destruction of the one who had needed her most.” Sadly the show did not properly touch on Celestia being at fault too on this. Same with the ponies for taking Luna for granted. Its what bothered me on the scene where Luna got changed back, Celestia acted like Luna alone is at fault instead of acknowledging she(Celestia) messed up too. The show should have touched on that more better. Sadly it seems like nobody learn their lesson from the mess either. Royal Problem showed Celestia basically repeating some of the mistakes that led the mess to happen(the dumb retirement stuff from season 9 is not a way to solve that either, its screwing Luna over more), Luna bottling things up again and such(pretty much she can't help it, she needs a therapist pretty much) while the ponies are basically still not giving Luna the amount of appreciation Celestia has gotten. Yes, Luna is getting some attention now but its still not enough sadly, it still felt like Luna is still in Celestia's shadow.
