Pencil suddenly sprung up with realization

"Oh yes, i've had experience with poltergeists and other such beings. Both from Equestria and beyond... being an old friend of a time traveler has it's advantages..."

 

"So anyway, start me off by telling me who you are again"

Chiptune stretched and trotted over to Crimson.

 

"So your Disharmoniousness," she said endearingly. "You mentioned some ponies that you wanted to take out, care to elaborate?"

"We never did finish off what we started when you called us here, you have some explaining to do."Laurellen said to the other ponys eyes narrowed at Crimson. "I don't know any of you at all and now we are a 'team' this doesn't quite add up in my book."

"So many questions...please, do slow down," chuckled the voice, and Crimson nodded.

"Just gimme a sec to finish talking to him...I'll explain after."

Chiptune nodded curtly.

"As you wish."

Laurellen nodded as well, and turned around to ask Pencil "So about that training, what do you have in mind?"

Pencil took his eyes off Crimson for a second in order to speak to Laurellen:

"Mostly play combat, some assault courses, maybe some weapon training, A LOT of cuts and bruises"

 

But soon after, he turned back to face Crimson again:

"Tell me, who are you?"

Chiptune stepped in front of Pencil.

 

"She is Crimson, her Disharmoniousness, and she asked to be left alone," Chiptune's eye lit up. "I suggest you do so."

Anger began to surge in Pencil's expression. He wasn't in the mood for anyponies negative attributes

"Get out of the way, i have to talk to this thing possessing Crimson. It could be one of those corrupted Alicorns for all we know, and you do NOT want to mess with those"

The glint in Chiptune's eyes grew into a burning fire.

 

"Have you ever heard of Lavender Town Syndrome?" she asked Pencil, twisting her head to the side. "No? Well, let me explain it for you then. Basically, if a high frequency is played loudly enough and projected toward a listener's ear, the listener will go insane. They will become suicidal, paranoid, even physically ill. All in a matter of seconds..."

 

Chiptune closed her eyes and shook her head.

 

"It's a good thing that only one certain type of sound can create the frequencies high enough to induce such a result, 8-bit. And not just any 8-bit either, it really only shows up in 8-bit music... Chiptunes... The really good old stuff."

 

Chiptune pulled a music player from her saddle bag.

 

"Did I tell you that I'm a DJ yet? I mix music for a living. They call me DJ 8-bit. Want to listen to one of my singles?" she said with a big smile.

Crimson rolled her eyes. ''Pencil, I'm not possesed right now. I am in full control of my mental capabilities.''' She gestured at Chiptune. ''Please, Ms. 8-Bit, go right ahead.'' She rolled back on her side and ignored them. They could hear murmuring voices, one the strange male one and the other Crimson's.

Chiptune smiled evilly.

 

"Wanna listen Pencil?"

Pencil replied with an unimpressed tone:

"Have you ever had an Alicorn god of war impale you with fiery blades? Because i have... multiple times i think. I doubt your music will do much damage in comparison"

 

(Sorry that i'm slow, i have to go to school sometime...)

''Sure... I could go for some music. It would be the first time I've heard any in 2 years.'' Said Linus as shrugging.

Chiptune laughed aloud.

 

"Oh, Pencil I'm insulted! Did you actually think I am so stupid that I was going to play music that could induce Lavender Town Syndrome when I'm in the vicinity?"

 

Chiptune turned.

 

"Also, sound is an inexplicable force. It moves through a medium, vibrating it with its energy. And if you knew anything about science, you'd know that energy cannot be destroyed," she continued even though she had looked away. "That means that now, later, and long after your dead, the original Lavender Town Song will still be ringing out, somewhere in Equestria claiming lives."

 

Now she turned to Linus.

 

"Knock yourself out," Chiptune said tossing him the player.

''Hm?'' Said Linus as staring at the player. ''Err... Why do I feel so stupid right now?'' Said Linus as looking confused at the Player.

[Victoria and Co. 782]

Chiptune sighed.

 

"Here, let me help you."

 

She pulled a pair of earphones from her saddlebag and placed them on Linus's head. Then she took the jack and plugged it into the device.

 

"This is my Cannon-47. A very high quality personal computing and listening device. It stores music, among other things, for my use on the go," Chiptune said holding up the music player. "Just push this button and say the name of the song you wan to to hear. If you don't know the name, sing a few bars. If you can't sing, search for it by artist, release date, etc. If you have no idea what to listen to, just say 'Random' and prepare for music."

Pencil was starring at Chip, with one eye twitching slightly. He proceeded to pinch the skin between his eyes with the end of his hoof, he had so many corrections to make to Chiptune's 'theory of sound' but felt that if he suggested any, Chip would lack the ability to understand and just pass Pencil off as a moron.

 

Instead, he simply said with a sigh:

"Are you... are you serious?"

 

He then shook off the conversation he just had and noticed the headphones Chip gave Linus:

"These look like a pretty advanced toy. Did you make them yourself?"

[Victoria and Co. 782]

"Yes, I did make it myself. Both the headphones and the Cannon-47 took me about a year to finish."

Crimson came out of the shadows and stretched.

"So...what do you guys wanna do?"

Chiptune quickly spun around and straightened up.

 

"I will do whatever is asked of me your Disharmoniousness!"

"I just want to go home to my fiance."

*Mercer said. He was already tired of this group.*

Pencil thought to himself:

"Pfft, kiss-up..."

 

He then turned to talk to Crimson

"Considering we're NOT doing that therapy session i was promised... how about we experiment with our powers?"

Crimson smiled coldly at Chiptune. "Please stop calling me that. Just call me Crimson."

Turning her attention to Pencil she shrugged. "Sorry. He had some ah...BUSINESS to attend to. Sounds like a plan. But first-what are we going to do?" She looked at the others. "If we don't help Equestria could be in great danger..."
