Alice thought back to when she first saw Amiel.

She saw something move out of the corner of her eye and turned her head. She saw a ghost, a horribly tortured looking one. It had chains around it's ankles, and more around it's left wrist. It looked over and saw her, a low moan escaping it's torn up looking neck.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts. "He emanates white light, like most ghosts. He has no eyes..just somewhat bloody eye sockets. If he's attacking you and you look into the sockets your vision goes all blurry and you get lightheaded. He has chains around his ankles and left wrist. His neck is really torn up and bloody..it's probably how he died."

Fayte stood awestruck. All he could manage to say from the shock was,

"Damn... that is pretty horrifying. I don't know what I would do if I ran into anything like that. Run and cry, probably."

Alice nodded and put the back of her hand over her eyes. "Yeah. I'd probably be dead right now if Adam didn't tell me what to do..I was staring into Amiel's "eyes" and going lightheaded. He did attack me though..in a way." She lowered her hand from her glistening eyes. "According to Adam I'm as cold as death."

Without thinking Fayte put his hand on Alice's shoulder and held it fast. He looked back at her and softly smiled. He then said,

"It's ok now. He obviously isn't attacking you anymore. And besides, you're protecting me now? Well, I'm protecting you as well."

Alice nodded. "I don't know about some of the other ghosts though. Aparently there's worse ones then Amiel out here, and Amiel wanted a friend. I don't want to think about the one's who DON'T want to be friends."

Fayte smiled once more and stretched out his arms.

"Do I need to show you my massive muscles again to show you that you'll be safe with me? Because I'll totally do it!"

Fayte laughed again as he did so.

Alice giggled. "I feel safe with you around anyway." She grinned playfully at him and stood up, stretching. "I think I'm going to go to bed, I'm tired from saving you. My room is in the east wing, where's yours?"

Fayte stood up with her and made his way beside her.

"I honestly have no clue, I've been with you the entire time, remember? I had to sleep in your bed when I passed out."

He laughed softly as he stretched as well.

Alice led him down the hall. "Well, there's a room beside mine that's empty. There aren't that many students, so I guess you could take that one." She half smiled. "If you want to, I don't know if I'd be able to find you agian if you chose a different room though." She smirked jokingly.

Fayte laughed as he put his arms behind his head.

"To think I would even change rooms! I'm happy being as close as possible, silly. Now let me walk you to your room at least, it is only the least I could do."

Alice giggled. "What a gentleman. I'd love that." She held her hands behind her back and looked at the paintings and out the windows as they walked by them. "It's so beautiful here. Creepy, but beautiful."

Fayte nodded his head as he walked alongside Alice. He joined her at looking at the assorted painting on the wall, which struck him as curious.

"How old is this place exactly to have such old paintings and ghosts?"

Alice shook her head. "I have no idea. The ghosts might've been here before the school was, we are surrounded by a forest after all." She looked out the window at the dark forest and shivered slightly.

Fayte turned to Alice as she shivered softly, to which he responded by putting a hand on her shoulder. He smiled at her and said,

"We're safe inside of the building. Nothing is going to attack us in here."

Alice half smiled back and put her hand ontop of hers. "I hope not. Some ghosts just like pranking people, but others want to scare us away, or hurt us." She turned her head from the window and continued down the hall, then stopped. "This is my room." She looked at the one beside it. "You can stay in that one then." She smiled at him.

Fayte smiled back at her. He looked towards the room, then back to her again. He then said,

"As you said, I am a gentleman. So I bid thee, adieu." He then did a mock bow, but hugged her suddenly. He said in her ear,

"That's for earlier. Now get to sleep, silly." He backed away from her and chuckled, before he walked into his room.

Alice blushed when he hugged her. "Goodnight." She went into her room as well and sighed contently, then changed into her black nightgown. She crawled into her bed and fell asleep after a few minutes, glad to be rid of Amiel's clinking chains for once.

Fayte laid back on his bed after taking his shirt off, ready to face the new night ahead. Sleeping in an unknown location was always difficult for him, but he would have to manage. Within moments, he was in a state of mind to where sleep was only a fingertip away.

Alice fell asleep and dreampt that she was up on a hill on a sunny day. It was beautiful; apart from the ghost with glowing white eyes, his pupils staring into her even though her eyes were closed and her head turned away. He was shaking her harshly, yelling angrily in her face. She twitched in her sleep.

(Dat imagery. Jesus.)

Fayte opened his eyes as he slept, sweat slowly dripping off of his brow. This room was far too hot to have a proper night of sleep. He would just have to wait it out, as do the others.

Alice woke suddenly and sat up, panting. She put her hand on her upper arm where the ghost was holding her, expecting a hand to be there. She exhaled and hung her head for a second, her hair failling infront of her face. She pushed her hair away and looked up towards the doorway. There was a tall, dark figure standing there, it's back turned to her. "..Adam?"

The ghost turned it's head in her direction when she spoke.

Alice could see the glowing eyes when it slightly turned it's head. Her breath caught in her throat as it turned towards her more, it's angry expression from her dream still on it's face. It turned it's body towards her. Alice pulled herself into the corner that her bed was pushed into, unable to look away from it's eyes. She breathed in short gasps as it turned fully towards her, it's hands clenched in fists. She let out one quiet sob of fear as it started moving towards her.

Fayte jumped up on the bed as he felt a ghosts presence nearby. It didn't feel natural to him either, it felt.. violent. For a moment Fayte wondered if he should check it out or just ignore it. After a few moments, he picked himself off of the bed and walked towards the presence.

The ghost moved to her bedside, it's glowing eyes illuminating it's rage filled face. It leaned down and put one hand on her bed, ready to climb onto it to get to her.

Alice tried pushing herself farther into the corner. "Go away," She gasped, trying to look away from it.

The ghost's mouth opened and he growled in a very low pitched tone.

Alice let out a couple more sobs, trembling from fear.

The ghost suddenly lurched towards her and grabbed the wrist that was closest to it, wrapping his cold hands around her wrist. It put it's other hand around her neck, it's teeth grinding together.

Alice screamed when he grabbed her wrist, but got cut off when he grabbed her neck. She coughed a couple times and sobbed as his cold hand started cutting off her air supply.

Fayte could hear what sounded like a muffled scream right before a choking sound. He felt the presence of a being inside of the room... It was Alice's room. Fayte felt a fire start to burn inside of his chest as he opened the door, not ready for what he saw inside. He could see the hideous ghost within, who had his hands on her neck and wrist. Fayte froze for a moment before he sprinted forwards and grabbed the ghost by the head and pulled as hard as he could.

The ghost yelled deeply in rage as he got pulled away from the girl. He looked at the boy who'd pulled him away from her and growled, then disappeared.

Alice cried out when the ghost was ripped away from her, her wrist and neck aching. She pressed herself into the corner again, sobbing and trembling from fear, one hand on the wall, the other tangled in the blanket.
