Alice broke through the surface of the dirt, and sucked in a deep breath of air. She paused momentarily then climbed out of the hole and ran, ignoring the blood that had started to seep out of the cuts all over her. "Fayte!"

The ghost heard her voice from behind him and roared with anger, lunging for the boy.

Luckily Fayte had received combat training from his father before he disappeared, so Fayte dropped into a crouch position under the lunge of the ghost. Now behind him, Fayte began to run again, fearing for his life.

The ghost turned, fuming. His white eyes turned red and he roared in anger again, making even Alice flinch. He flew at the boy, and held him in a choke hold.

Alice kept running, ignoring the pain stinging her body. Tears flew from her eyes, and she ignored those as well.

Fayte felt his entire body rise as the ghost put his arms around his neck. Fayte began to see stars all around him, the air passage way now blocked by the extreme force. Fayte attempted to fight back, but to no avail.

Alice pushed herself past the trees and saw Fayte being strangled by the ghost. She stopped when the ghost looked her in the eyes, it's own swimming with rage. She took a step forward. "Let him go."

The ghost didn't move.

Alice let out a shaky breath. "I'm the one you want, right?"

The ghost tightened his grip on the boy's neck.

Alice held her bloody arms out. "Come get me."

Fayte was beginning to lose his vision, but could see Alice out in the distance. He attempting to wriggle, but pressure was put on his neck once more, causing his eyes to go completely blank, darkness everywhere.

The ghost let the boy go, dropping him on the ground, not caring if he was still alive. He walked to the girl, running his cold fingers along her bloody arm. He put his hand to her throat where the bruises were forming, then turned back to the boy on the ground.

Alice looked at Fayte. "Fayte.." She said quietly. She felt rage bubbling inside her and she lunged for the ghost, who grabbed her bruised wrist and started bending her hand back. She cried out in pain and went on her knees infront of him. He leaned down towards her.

"Shall I kill him, or should I make you do it?" The ghost said hoarsly, looking back at Fayte.

After Fayte dropped to the ground, he hit his head on the ground below, knocking him senseless. He still wasn't breathing, as he felt like he was still being choked. He could feel the life slowly ease away from his body as he stared into nothingness.

Alice ignored his question. She closed her eyes and used her telekenisis to transfer her life energy to Fayte, giving him more power while draining her own. She almost lost the connection a couple times, but kept it going.

The ghost growled and twisted her hand back more.

Fayte shot up as his heart suddenly began to beat again as he took in massive gasps of air, the life returning to him. Once his vision cleared, he could see the ghost was attacking Alice once more. Like before, the fire in his chest rose as he sprinted towards the ghost and wrapped his arms around his waist and picked the ghost up to throw him backwords.

Alice fell away from the ghost, landing on the ground on her side. She looked up at the ghost as she rolled on the ground as well, then made eye contact with her. It knocked Fayte out of the way and crawled towards her.

Alice closed her eyes and prepared a telekenisis attack on the ghost. She unleashed it on him, and it screamed in pain and anger, disappearing. The light from it's eyes remained for a few seconds, then disappeared. Alice exhaled all the air in her lungs and fell on her back, lying on the ground limply. The cuts on her body stung but she ignored them. "You ok?" She called out quietly

Fayte was panting due to the lack of oxygen, but he held up a thumbs up. He simply closed his eyes and laid back, trying to find the breath that was knocked out of him. He took down a ghost. A large ghost.

Alice coughed a couple times and rolled on her side. She held her hand infront of her mouth and coughed, then looked at her hand; it was flecked with blood. "Crap." She looked up at Fayte then pushed herself off the ground into a sitting position, her head swimming. "I hope he's gone for good now..I don't think I could do that again."

Fayte picked himself up after smelling the strong stench of blood. He could see that Alice had been cut very badly on her wrist. He could see that even in his dream, he now had a shirt on. He quickly tore it and limped over to her slowly. He picked up her arms and wrapped his cut shirt around her open wounds.

Alice coughed a couple more times and winced. "I'm fine, it's ok.." She started. She stood up with him and coughed again, doubling over slightly. She held her hand against her mouth again and waved Fayte away.

Fayte shook his head and put his arms around her waist, and slowly made her lie down on the ground. He continued to wrap her wounds and shush her whenever she tried to make a sound. After he was done, he wrapped his arms around her and laid beside her. He whispered to her,

"I'm not going anywhere now."

Alice coughed some more, her hand still covering her mouth. She formed a fist with her hand, hiding the blood flecks, and crossed her arms around her stomach, flinching every time she felt another coughing fit coming on. "Are YOU ok?" She asked. "He was strangling you, after all." She leaned her head on his shoulder.

Fayte smiled at her with a little grin.

"I'm fine, as always. No ghost is ever going to kill me. Not while you're around. I promised to protect you, and that is what I plan on doing. Even if I am the one who needs protecting sometimes!"

Alice half smiled and put one of her arms around his waist, holding onto him. "If we fall asleep here we'll wake up back at the academy. We'll look the same as we do now, just back in the real world." She murmured, her eyes closed.

Fayte smiled back at her as he kissed her on the forehead. He then closed his eyes as well and let himself drift back into the void of sleep, ready to go back to the real world of reality that humans should always remain.

Alice woke up in her room, her body aching. She flipped onto her stomach and grabbed a tissue and coughed into it, then dropped the bloody thing onto her bedside table. She let her arm hang off the bed, her fingers almost touching the floor.

Fayte awoke in his room to find his shirt once again on the floor, and not in pieces. He sighed as he remembered the dream, but knew that it actually did happen. Instead of lying there, he got off of his bed and out the door to Alice's room. He slowly opened her door to see if she was awake.

Alice opened her eyes when she heard the door open. "You can come in, it's ok." She called out quietly, pushing herself up a bit. She rubbed her wrist and looked up at him as he walked in. "I think the ghost is gone."

Fayte sat down on the bed beside her and looked at the bruise on her wrist. He frowned slightly, but also said with a small amount of pleasure,

"He better be gone now. I don't think I could take another night like last night."

Alice pushed herself into the best seated position she could get to. "I agree with you 100 percent there." She murmured, looking at him. "How's your neck?" She asked, reaching for it. She stopped halfway and dropped her hand. "Does it hurt?"
