Micah 44 November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 How does one ping another user? I've tried @(username here) but it didn't exactly work. Is pinging different then using @?
MangoFoalix 24,961 November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 YouYou have to type @ before their name. That is how you ping people. If it doesn't work the first time then refresh the page.
Rikifive 24,192 November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 (edited) Are you on desktop or mobile? Due to WYSIWYG nature, some functionality may not be available for older devices or browsers, that tend to minimize usage of transfer data by simplifying or skipping various contents. For instance, my old phone couldn't work with this text editor at all, due to it having its own, full-screen editor. That made posting impossible. Either way, to mention someone, type "@" and then the username after it. Don't type it too fast though, because the editor might not catch it, rarely. 1 Type @ and the first letter of the nickname like this @t . Typing name after space will work too. ( @ t ). A box with usernames should appear. 2 Continue putting more letters to narrow the search. 3 If you'll notice the member you want to mention, click it or select with keyboard. If it doesn't, try again by backspacing it and starting with @ again. ( If it will keep refusing to search, try refreshing the page ) NOTES To properly mention a user, you have to select him from the list, just typing it won't work. If you'll do everything correctly, you'll see, that the mention is formatted already in the editor, before posting. Note, that making a single typo will fail to search the member you want, which will make the box disappear or not appear at all if what you typed doesn't match any results. Mentioning isn't case-sensitive though, so feel free to ignore caps. When mentioning, make sure there are no characters before it; mention only in new lines/paragraphs or after space. That is to say, that hi@username will not work, so do .@username, for example. It will not begin to search, even if you type the name perfectly. Hope that helps! Will Guide 21,360 November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 Right after @ there should be a menu of names starting with the letters you type. The more letters in the target user's CURRENT name you use the more it should narrow down. cuteycindyhoney 13,307 November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 I've had a strange problem wit this. Any time I "mention" someone like this, I can't type anything after. It's very strange. I've taken to leaving a blank space, and then putting the name in after the fact. Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
