Moments where you question whether pony or human

I can get on board with sentient ponies. There are many pieces of media outside MLP where horses are sentient. Fantasy worlds, I can get on board with. But when you have a franchise around ponies and consistently have their anatomy passed off as human, whether for comedy or not- it makes me bristle.

Or on human chests. The female secondary sex characteristics aren't genitalia.

Exactly. 

there is no reason to cover their chests as if they have anything there. The joke has been addressed by characters, saying they don't wear clothes, at least in two episodes, the covering invisinips\crotch joke is dumb and makes no sense for horse anatomy, and we've been staring at behind horse chests and bottoms for 8 years. It ruins continuity of you put scenes and reactions like this in.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but the explanation is simple. It's a funny joke. The humor lies in that they actually have nothing that needs hiding.
