"Looking good dear" Tranquil smiles and sips on her own coffee "You're welcome dear, and you're right, I do need to get cleaned up as well" she says with a chuckle before getting up and placing her mug down "See you in a bit love" she kisses his cheek.

Winter sat down and savored the coffee while he practiced mindful consumption of the beverage. He wanted to be calm and centered when he visited his friend for his preparation to be a monk. It was a huge step down an important path and he was going to honor it. 

He looked around the apartment and wondered if this was where he was meant to be. He wondered if there was anything around the corner to ruin this. Shaking the thoughts he cleared his mind and began to chant softly to himself preparing for the ceremony ahead.

Tranquil soon came out of the bathroom about  twenty minutes later, having had finished showering and finding something nice to wear. She was now in a nice dress as she went over to her chair and sat down, picking up her coffee once more "that's better, how are you doing dear?" she asks, with a smile.

Winter stood and finished up his coffee before giving her a side armed hug. 

" You look great. Now I know its a tad early still but if we leave now I can find a store along the way to pick up a small gift. " 

He slung the jacket to his outfit over his shoulder and held the door for her. As they went to exit he realized he was about to leave his pouch of bits behind. He swiftly grabbed his last ten bits off the desk in his room and hurried out the door.

Tranquil smiles at him "Thank you sweetheart" she says, kissing his cheek and finishing her own coffee,  before she stood up and had noticed that he had only a small amount of bits. She smiles at him "You know, I would feel bad if I didn't put in towards the gift" she says to him.

Winter blushed and ducked his head. His hoof scuffed the floor but he realized the sense of her statement. 

" I really thank you. Its hard going from vagabond to normal life and growing up rich makes this embarrassing. "

Tranquil smiles and nods "I can understand, it was a real cultureshock for me when I left my parents' place" she says "I wasn't rich like you, but I did have to learn a lot of life skills I didn't think I would need to have learned so soon" she says to him with a gentle nuzzle "Well, what do you have in mind to get him?"

Winter paused to think about it for a bit and then nodded with a smile. 

" I know just the thing. A jade mala. It's perfect for meditation and both of us shared an affinity for the jade statutes of the temple. He can't have much with him when he returns but this is something I know for sure would be allowed. I would also like to pick up a meditation journal for him. Outside of that I just wanted to get him some Yak Yakistan dark chocolate and almond candies which are his favorite. " 

He was moving as he spoke and he held the door for tranquil.

Tranquil giggles "Well then, perhaps we should return to my shop?" she suggests "I mean I do deal in things like malas and meditation journals after all" she says "Plus I always only get the best, so you know they will last"

Winter clapped a hand to his forehead. He let out a whinny of laughter and snorted in mirth. 

" I cant believe I did not think of that. The only real stop will be to get the candy. So mind if I get a mala of my own as well? I have always been partial to jade as well. Its a soothing color for meditation. "

Tranquil giggles as she turns around and unlocks the doors "Of course sweetheart" she says with a smile and lets him back insider their store "Take your pic hon, we'll put it down to store expenses"

Winter smiled and wandered the store until he found two heavy jade mala. They looked like they could take a beating and he knew that was just what ponies like himself Iron Feathers would need. They liked to travel and rough house so they often broke less sturdy objects that they owned. Setting the mala aside he browsed until he found a heavily stitched bound leather journal with space to add pages as needed. 

" These will be perfect. Thank you so much for all you have done for me. Its nice to have somepony around that does not have strings attached to even the smallest of kindnesses. "

Tranquil's smile soon turned to a frown as she nodded "Indeed, genuine kindness does seem to be in short supply these days" she says, but then smiles again before marking down the items in the store book and looking up at Winter.

Just then, Father Sunshine walks in "Oh good, I didn't miss you" he says as he greets the two in the store "I have some news about that object of yours"

Winter draws himself up frowning. he was sure that most things of the spirit world were tangled right now. He did not want to mar this day with ill tidings and so he moved a protective step towards Tranquil. 

" It is good to see you again Father. Hopefully, you bring good news. "

Father Sunshine smiles "Indeed I do, I have spoken to my superiors and they have given me the permission to cleanse then destroy the object" he says "Soon, you both will be free of the omens that thing had brought upon you"

Tranquil sighs in relief "We'll finally be free, love"

Winter tries to smile. He wants to roll with the news and be relieved but he is almost sure that there is more here than the single cursed object. He wonders if that object alone could muddle the chi of the world as he understands it. 

" That is indeed good news. What do we do from here? "

"For now? You two relax, my superiors are in search for any more objects that this one may be linked to. We all felt that shift this morning, I am sure" he explains.

Tranquil nods "We felt it pretty badly"

Winter nods

" Its opening things wide but with rapid flow so too does mud come. " 

Winter spoke but he was without thinking echoing the words of the Abbot long ago in Yakyakistan.

The Father nods "Wise words, I beseech you to continue to keep your guard up and practice keeping your chi in check" he says, somewhat solemnly, "I do now know what it will be, but something big is coming"

" The chi around here is more stable then in most areas. But if I reach deeper I can feel trouble in the flow. It's choppy as if splashing in leaps and bounds. It really does not make much sense.  But I will keep my guard up " 

Winter seemed distracted as he reached out around himself and tried to feel the flow of things.

The Father nods and sighs "Well, please just stay safe" he says "you're obviouslsy in a bit of a hurry, so I'll let you go" he says and turns to leave, looking back one more time "Enjoy the celebration"

Winter smiled and nodded at the Father. 

" You have a good day Father. May the light always be at your back. " 

Winter turned to Tranquil 

" So my dear what do you say to grabbing the sweets and heading to the celebration? "

Tranquil smiles with a nod "Sounds good to me, did you choose what you wanted? I need to mark them down into the book that they've been sold" she says to him with a gentle smile, getting out the book for sales.

Winter holds up the two heavy jade mala and the journal. 

" These will be perfect. I really cant express how grateful I am to have met you Tranquil. Wandering for so long sort of leaves you jaded to the loneliness of it all. Thank you for making someplace feel like home. " 

Winter smiled softly at her and and tucked the items in his waist pack for the trip across Canterlot.

Tranquil smiles and puts down the two Jade Mala and the journal into the book and closes it. She goes over to him and smiles "You're welcome Winter" she smiles "If not for you, I may not have been able to have freed myself from that curse"
