MLP Forums still uses my old email address from years ago, while it shows my new email on Poniverse.

Hey, my email address has updated on Poniverse, but not on MLP Forums. I changed my email a few months ago, but it won’t change. The email on MLP Forums is still the one I signed up with. The one with my last name. I’d like to use my geekynerd Gmail address (hopefully the admins know what I’m talking about, I’m trying to be as brief as possible.)

Yeah, this happens.  I can update the email for you here on the forums through the admin control panel, but you'd have to provide me the email you want to change it to, as I don't have any "powers" on poniverse.net to view it. 

Of course to keep it private, you could send me a message or file a support request (where most likely I'll be the one to reply there anyway).

Yeah, it's not a new issue, as it's not the first time a member asked for updating the email on the forums for the same reason OP did. It seems to not be working for whatever reason (at least for some users, including me apparently, 'coz it didn't update mine either). 

Anyway, as for the goal of the thread, it has been handled privately, so I'll be locking it marking as resolved.
If anyone else is having the same problem, please send a message to me / other staffers or file a support request, as suggested above. That's at the very least, the best I can offer personally.

 

What is happening there is beyond my grasp, as I have nothing to do with poniverse.net. I'll try bringing that up to admins to see if anything can be done. Or perhaps they'll just reply here of course.

Update: I asked and -- It's not a bug. It's just how it is, as currently there's simply no system for that. So it is expected, that the email on the forums won't be updated. Sorry for the inconvenience coming from this.

So yeah, if anyone would like to update the email on the forums, please contact staff (I'm raising my hoof here) or file a support request. We'll be happy to help!
