In this thread is was implied that the search engine would work better if topics are tagged properly.

 

So I propose that we find some way to either encourage, or force new topics to be tagged. Admittedly I haven't given this much thought, but here's some ideas that I can think of at the moment:

• Don't let a topic be created without tags.
• Have the moderating team tag topics with whatever they deem relevant.
• Make an announcement either in that scrolling thingy at the top of the forums, or in each board (like this one)
• All of the above.

Also I want to thank our mods and admins, they do a great job.

It does help, and they are just below topic title when you make a topic, it's one of those things which is searched on. And you can search tags specifically using the engine.

You never said we should do something about it though, or at least I don't think you did.

 

And Tich, Larpy is right we can't tag threads on this forum. But what do you think of my ideas?

They should help make the search more effective, letting people find particular topics with ease and also helping to prevent redundant threads being made.
