Bronies or /B/ronies?

Where did the word 'brony' come from? There are two different opinions on this. One is that it is a combination of bro and pony. The other is that it came from the /B/ boards of 4chan, /B/ + pony. Which do you think is correct?

Why does nobody know this somehow, where are all the OGs at bro it came from 4chan and it is very simple. Bros who like ponies, bronies. You know it is very simply that, bros who like ponies therefore you have the word bronies.
