You know what I miss from G4 that had been implemented in G5? Multiple Villains. Like, can we get a Sprout comeback? Or the three villains break out of their statue? Or hey, why not even resurrect Sombra for the 3rd and (hopefully) final time

I admire your idea, but I'm personally really fine with the way G5 is working its villains, it's different from the way G4 did it and I really appreciate it, it's like what they did in Season 9 of FiM with the Legion of Doom only extended, them making each villain have an arc with them appearing in several episodes is a concept that I really liked, Opaline is my favorite villain, I enjoyed her more than the G4 villains, and I think that this is It must be precisely because she is developed over several episodes and not just 2 or 4, I don't think this necessarily makes her a better villain than the ones in G4, but it certainly made me have her as my favorite (that's why I think this is the only point where G5 is superior to G4 in my opinion). And bring up villains from the past back and make them work together again? I don't know, it would be like repeating a lot of what FiM did, people would complain even more, or maybe not

I see your point, but if I had to choose a villain to bring bac, it'd be either Tirek, or the Pony of Shadows. Both of which would've survived the aging process, and knowing Tirek, he probably would've drained Chrysalis and Cozy Glow in the statue if given the chance. And if he did, it would make sense. The Pony of Shadows could even possess the likes of Sprout, because while Stygian is good now, the darkness is still out there. Waiting.

If you watched and see how they handled gen 5 you know that's impossible 🤣.

Anyway just lower your expectations so it wont hurt as much when they fail you.

I know where are you trying to reach with that  but I can assure you that won't happen again as they don't have a 3D series holding them anymore, plus the Dragons' new design could also have been made to sell toys

I personally don't mind going off-topic, some subjects can lead to different subjects, but some members were complaining about it, so yeah, that was a necessary move 

By the way, now that the TyT episodes are going to be bi-weekly, maybe it's because Hasbro don't want the second season to end so fast, Season 1 started in April 2022 and ended in December 2023 with 70 episodes. With Season 2 episodes releasing every week, we would get 50 episodes this year. If Season 2 also gets 70 episodes, then we would have only like, 20 episodes in 2025, maybe they want to extended the run of the series on purpose, the future of G5 is uncertain after the end of this Season. I don't know, I just know that the more time passes and things don't seem to improve for the G5, the more convinced I am that by the end of 2024 we will enter its final stretch.

With how silent MLP G5 is as of this year in 2024, it seems that the show creators went radio silence with no new announcements regarding new episodes. In all fairness, Make Your Mark was decent, but it was very underwhelming at best and just doesn't flow well with the overall storyline, especially with the lack of proper continuity. And the 2D was okay-ish, but it felt rather rushed, if not forgettable. A shame too because G5 felt like a wasted potential than with G4 (even though G4 had flaws, it was a global sensation whereas G5 felt like an afterthought).

It will really saddens me that G5 is gonna end so abruptly. I've been a long time follower to the series and been watching it just so that I can learn more about the history behind it and learn its connection with G4. To me, it really sucks. It felt like Hasbro given up G5 so easily, claiming it's a waste, and now like what? They want to start over again with a new incarnation and just leave the previous one unsolved? This is gonna bug me through the whole year for I hate when a series had to end so soon without a proper ending. They didn't give the series a chance, further develop it, and then give it a proper send off like in G4. I want to least know why they felt the need to end it. What is the reason? Is it budget strains? Lack of support? Or they needed a break and refresh? As long time MLP Brony fan, this is gonna leave me unease cause I have grown fond with the characters, intrigued by the storyline, and have been hype to see clues of the G4 connection. I can still see so much potential for G5 and I feel like it is just wrong to end it so soon will there's still so much more to be had.

Please, from a fellow MLP fan to another, I need to hear your thoughts and maybe some word of encouragement on this. MLP has always been a part of my life and this incomplete puzzle of G5 is making me anxious and worried. Will G5 at least still be in development? Will it ever come back with perhaps a new, fresher format? Can we at least appeal to Hasbro to reconsidered or least give us a full explanation. I still think is not fair for G5 to end abruptly while the full lore has not been covered. 

If any of you can share your thoughts and opinions regarding to the future of G5 and perhaps a few words of assurance, then do please share. That would mean a lot to me.

Well In my case, I wasn't really caring about it, I wasn't enjoying Tell your Tale and I stopped watching it after 12 or 13 episodes of Season 2, so It really don't affect me, I'm more worried about other series and things now, not really thinking about the future of MLP or anything related to it at the moment, but if there's one thing that I really dislike is when a show or series plan is cancelled, I 100% agree that this is unfair and that the show deserved to tell it's story until the end, I definitely can't imagine how MLP fans like you are feeling right now, but I can say for sure that this is very disappointing, if the same happened to a series I like (DB) I would feel the same, I already said months ago that G5 could be cancelled, but I wasn't imagining that the death was going to be so sudden.

As for the questions: 

1: I made a post saying that what se saw from G5 in 2024 was probably already all made back in 2023, and that they are using 2024 to work in the next peoject, I don't know what it could be, but it could be a new G5 project or G6 (rumours say that it's going to be a G4 x G5 crossover, but there's nothing confirmed)

2: No idea if it's ever coming back

3: I don't know if we can say anything to Hasbro, I don't think that works, a lot of older fans dislike or hate the show (or just don't care about it), and a big part who enjoys it are kids, so it would need a looooot of people to make a internet movement in order to maybe make Hasbro change up its mind, I think? Not sure, I don't think we can do anything at the moment.

It's probably not false, there is already a lot of evidence that suggests it is really ending, even the official playlist for TyT Season 2 points out that the last two upcoming episodes will be the last ones. Only a miracle for it to be fake.

I think it's more of too many shows, movies and specials and not sticking with a form of either CGI or 2D animation to cement a universe fully away from G4 so that people could take it seriously without having a bad ending reset to G4.

Could be, But I also think it has to do with the franchise simply losing popularity and bright throughout the years, it and the company are going through a bad time, many people just weren't interested, I said this back in 2023, I think the connections with G4 were done in order to call the attention of older fans like us, but the plan didn't go well, while it was a success among the kids, I think Hasbro expected the series to be a hit again just like G4 was during its golden years.

But most importantly, let's remember that the show is a propaganda for the toys, let's think about it, they are making the show available for free on Youtube, how much revenue they have? Is it enough to sell a lot of toys? That is problematic, and there is the current struggle of the toy market?

So I think we had the recipe for failure right in our faces all the time, you have a show that failed to meet the older audience and company's expectations, and you also have the company going through a struggle along with the toy market, it's recipe for disaster.

I dislike the show and many people do too, but I think this goes far beyond than just a bunch of adults hating or not watching a show that wasn't made for them, and I don't even think the generation was a flop, but I think this was alredy its destiny.

I think MLP TYT has potential to continue the series
