Just some old Ponytales... (lets make some)

So I've decided to create the great compendium of Equestrian tales and songs. It will be a great undertaking and probably take the form of a fanfic-thread on this side. But before we get to that There will have to some brainstorming.

Everything is welcome: prexisting stuff from other sides (and infos for me to contact the creator), your own content, ideas, scetches ect.

Only rule: Got to be in-universe and take place at least a 100 years before the events of the show.

Stuff that I think should be in:

How Equestria was made

The story of the two sisters

Heart warming carrol

Hush now, quite now (addtional lyrics)

  • Brohoof 2

My Art Thread, updated (almost) daily

Tomorrow will take us away, far from home

No one will ever know our names

But the bard songs will remain.

Didn't Pinkie Already define how Equestria was made? She saw a rainbow and then threw a party... Not sure how that makes Equestria, but she says it did, and I never doubt Pinkie. And Hush Now, Quiet now is plenty long enough I think, but it should have like 100 additional verses that nobody knows, just like every other lullaby.

"Hush now, Quiet now, it's time to lay your sleepy head; Hush now, quiet now, it's time to go to bed. Drift, drift, off to sleep, exciting day behind you; Drift, drift, off to sleep, let the joys of dreamland find you." I know that doesn't help at all, since everybody here is already going to know it, but I like having an excuse to write it out. It's a fun song!

"Hater's hate did create, that which they all feared. It is they we have to thank, for it is us they engineered."~ Me
"Eventually!"~ Also Me

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being 'grown up', to admire the 'grown up' because it is 'grown up', to blush at the suspicion of being childish; These are the marks of childhood and adolescence. When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be 'Very Grown Up'."~ C.S. Lewis

And maybe something regarding how Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and tried to overthrow her sister.

Take the Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader transformation but take out the burning part and add ponies. Voila! You have the story.

Sometimes I think that Luna and Celestia were like Twilight. They got so much power, they turned into Alicorns and increased in size.

Interesting thought there

How bout some stuff on Discord?

Definitely, something along the line of the "Saga of Chaos vanquished" or sumthing

And maybe something regarding how Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and tried to overthrow her sister.

This is prettymuch what "The two Sisters" is about and seing as most ponies weren't very familiar with this, I feel like adding too much to the text we got in the first episode would be cheating. Maybe some more stuff about the elements though.

That sounds good, we haven't heard much about them, especially where they came from.

Once upon a time, there was a wizard named Tingalong.

Tingalong studied all kinds of magic, but was rather a recluse. She liked to be left alone, but this was difficult for her because her study in the middle of the town square. Almost every day, ponies would stop by her study, wanting to make friends or conversation, but Tingalong was never interested. And what irritated her most was the daily arrival of the bottle of milk.

Every morning, the first pony that would show up was a milk-colt named Sillycream. His merry, bubbly mood was the sort that put a smile on anypony's face and made everypony happy (which was why it was appropriate as he saw it, to wake the town with cheer just after sunrise). It infuriated Tingalong.

One day, Tingalong got fed up with Sillycream, and decided she would put a spell on him. When he arrived that morning, she cast a spell that made him only be able to communicate through song and dance, and anypony he talked to would be forced to join in.
Tingalong thought this would make Sillycream too tired to keep up his attitude, but it made her all the more angry and confused when not only did he continue his attitude without skipping a beat (literally), but the whole town joined in with him!

Almost a year went by before Tingalong was once again at the end of her tether, and called Sillycream into the study to see if she could reverse the spell and make all the nonsense end. But wouldn't you know it, Sillycream managed to get Tingalong to join in a song.

The song was a counterpoint of her annoyed research, and the revelation that Sillycream had never been happier ever since Tingalong had cast the spell, and had fallen in love with her. It wasn't long before Tingalong gave up her sour mood and finally joined his reprise, and after a time, they became married.

Such is the Story: the Song Spell of Singalong.

~
An unseen side-effect of the singing spell was that it was contagious, and it spread rapidly throughout Equestria, until it reached a point where enemdic singing was becoming a problem to national productivity (see also: Hearts & Hooves Day Compendus: c1 p3.1 History and Origin). By emergency efforts of the Ministry of Magic, the spell's power was limited so that it could only pass on through genetic means by the already affected ponies. There was very little concern about the fact that this actually included 60% of all of Equestria (see also: Pony Antiquities; Gene Meme).

A true cure to the singing spell (so as to eradicate the singing, once and for all) had been considered by the Ministry of Magic, but it was decided that such a cure would be very difficult to research, and was generally unnecessary because most of the population of Equestria liked the spell's remnant anyways. About 120 years ago by side-funded research, a true cure was discovered, but it was never publicized or officiated since the public didn't want it.
An evil Sorcerer named Cacoponis once tried to steal it so that he might "stop the infernal tunes!", but he was stopped by the great wizard Pendragon and Pendulum (see also: Royal Archives; Annuals of 1883).

One half of this is a paraphrase of a possible tale, and the other half is historical follow-through.
It explains all the character's ability and knack for breaking into song "randomly". Edited by Blue
