Has anyone ever wondered the people with a long abandonded account are doing now?

Anyone ever wondered what those people are doing nowadays (both MLP forum and non-forum account), especially if they're your online friend?

All the time. I occasionally play a game called Toontown Rewritten and I have some friends on there who just up and disappeared one day. I assume they just lost interest in the game but still, seeing “Last seen: A very long time ago… :-(“  next to someone’s profile is kind of sad . 

There were a few users on here that I was kinda sad to see just disappear. For some they said why, but for most they didn’t. And I assume they just forgot about the forums, lost interest, or just got too busy with life. Who knows.

Same as this happened with 2 online friend I had, one of which was my first online friend.

There's this ASMR YouTuber I've listened that left without a trace, and their last community post said they're dealing with hardship only made me worried that I assume it's gotten so bad that they quit without even a goodbye. Celestia, I miss them, but I'll never forget them.

Certainly, I've only started poking my head around the forums again recently after a large absence and looking at a lot of peoples accounts I once interacted with does hit a soft spot, It has been a welcome surprise that some are still active though

I am new here but in other places (like Steam) you check an account of someone you used to play with and it says 'inactive for 5 years'. And that's sad...

It depends. I rarely have 1 on 1 interactions on here, especially this late into the game.

The ones I think about most are those I role played with and would get caught up in work, school, or just straight up dissappear. It resulted in some stories never getting fleshed out or some interactions that would've been minutes in real time ended up taking weeks within because of how far along things had moved. Some left at that point because it was too difficult to catch up with, but others we'll never know.

I wonder about whatever became of former contacts. I would be most interested to learn about people I have met some 20 years ago. They would be at least middle aged by now. How drastically different they must be from the time I knew them.

Yes, all the time. And it always hurts in a way? Like you don't know them outside [the game in my case] so you never know how they're doing. And you kind of hope they're alright. It's kind of weird since it's not like I know them well. Even when I see the abandoned accounts of people I wasn't friends with, it's kind of sad? I don't know if that's just me being creepy or what... It probably is me being creepy =.=

one of the first users to follow me back in 2014. Friend of everyone. Nearly anyone from 2014 or earlier has him on their follow list. He was a kind person. Then. Suddenly. He just disappeared. I left around 2015 to run my own business so I didn’t keep better tabs. Most everyone else who has suddenly disappeared.. I either know about from my Skype groups or I keep their secrets but other than that.. this one remains a mystery.  I still hope he is doing well. Maybe just got too busy with life to remember us…

If it's make you feel a little better: don't be too upset that they weren't active-online forever, because you, I, and everyone in existence won't be around forever either (even if I'm still upset to see a long abandoned account as well)

I've been gone from here for a long time. I kind of dropped out of the fandom all together. Still haven't finished watching G4 and haven't touched G5. But I'm bored and thought I might find people to chat with here since all I do otherwise is Reddit.

 

Seems this place is mostly dead though. Is there a discord server or something that everyone is on that I don't know about?

I do wonder about them from time to time, and I can only hope that things are going well for them and they're happy in their lives.
