I need advice if I'll get in trouble for uploading MLP X Spongebob videos with AI voices

Like the topic title says, I am worried if the videos I have posted in Youtube is going to be a problem in the future or Nickelodeon/Hasbro already has me in their radar. Someone commented that I might get sued by Nick if I keep doing this types of content and I would like to know if I will be and is there a way to solve it? I'm fine to stop any crossover projects with Spongebob if that's the only way.

Not sure if it will help but the first MLP X Spongebob video I've created, I placed a disclaimer for this video but I did not do the same for the other's since it's a work in progress:

a Part of Just One Bite (MLP x  Spongebob)
Pony Geeks part 5 (wip) <--- where the comment came from.

Thank you for reading my post and I hope you have a great day! :fluttershy:

Not likely so long as you aren't overtly trying to make money from your videos

You can look to a plethora of MLP fan content that has received no negative attention from Hasbro, they are incredibly lax when it comes to fans using their IP for fun unofficial fun content this including AI voices to date.

There is also tons of SpongeBob fan works as well and I am going to use Glorb as an example, his AI generated SpongeBob raps have become incredibly popular yet no action has been taken.

A disclaimer, and the good old all rights reserved and an understanding that policies may come in to play protecting the voice actors work from involuntary use via AI, though being a small channel making innocent fan content I don't think you have much to worry about, a cease and desist at most, being taken to court / sued is far too unreasonable of a thought :twi:

Thank you so much for this info! I checked up Glorb and woah the views~ (definitely gonna watch it cuz wtf XD)

I will try not to worry too much about it but I do want some clarifications of doing these kinds of fan content.

I do plan to sign up for YouTube's Partner Program once I fulfilled all the requirements and hopefully start earning money. So, from what you have warned me about, is that I shouldn't do too much Spongebob content once I start monetizing my videos?

Beyond what I have speculated I cant offer any concrete and certainly not legal advice. I haven't the slightest idea how Nickelodeon reacts to people using their IP's for profit, I expect you'd have videos copyright struck through Youtube at a minimum but that's only a guess, I've had such happen because I used a song without permission but Its honestly fair, they do own that IP and it is their right to protect it.

You'd probably be fine uploading the content and just not monetising the videos containing it, I'm sure you'll have update videos and original works that you can monetise without problem?

Relying on one of those fan donation services seems to be the popular method of skirting any wrath as well, pretty common for Warhammer fan works because GW is super strict on the unauthorised use of their IP for profit.

Ah, I see, thank you so much for your input on the matter haha :Pip-giggle: I'll figure something out when the time comes. For now, let's see how far I can go buuuut carefully so.
