Only because the list of pony related meetups I am aware of is small, no doubt there is tons more of varying size I simply don't know about. 
Besides, considering the show ended a whole 5 years ago and this fandom has been ongoing for like 15 years, it's pretty impressive to see that the community endures to this level, conventions are not cheap and you do need a pretty big turnout for them to be feasible at all.

In my country there are festivals and conventions dedicated to MLP but I have never been to any of them. In my city such things have never been held, so I plan to go to Moscow someday and visit some brony festival or convention.
