I'm completely knew to RPing here at the forums, and don't know where to start after learning that my character has been approved. Where or who should I join first? Is this only like a D&D situation RP's allowed here?

You could try posting a thread in the interest check section of the roleplay forums. Mention what your looking for and what sort of roleplay you'd like to do. Anyone who's interested could respond and likely help guide you from there.
