qwertz6607 110 January 2 Share January 2 In addition to the last bug related thingamajig, I will now be addressing... you guessed it, ROACHES!!! Honestly I love and hate the little a**holes, on one end, you get to feed them and have a little friend, on the bad end, it's a roach, a nasty yet cute little critter. I already know y'all hate on roaches, most of you maybe, maybe not I dunno, but lemme know what y'all think about the little pests, I'm curious. Samurai Equine 51,643 January 2 Share January 2 As long as they stay outside, they are fine. Outside? Their space. Inside? My space. But if a roach were to find its way in my house? My personal space? ...No mercy! 1
SharpWit 2,669 January 2 Share January 2 I work at a vet clinic, and it's not uncommon for clients to bring us treats. To put it politely, my boss also happens to be extremely messy. We also use open containers for animal food, and use rabbit feed pellets as cat litter. The culmination of all these things, means it's not at all surprising when a mouse makes an appearance, if anything it's surprising we maybe only see one a year. Anyways, I happened to see a roach in the break room one day, about an inch and a half long? I wasn't sure if it came in on someone's food or if we now had an infestation. Either way, I was freaked out, and tried to kill it by spraying alcohol. The bugger was too fast for me though, and ran into a hole drilled into the countertop that went back behind the whole cabinet I guess? This was a section of counter with some drawers and a sink. I covered the hole and promptly came back with every noxious thing we had and sprayed it down there. Don't know if it survived, this is a roach after all, but as far as I'm aware, it never made another appearance, nor did any other such creepy crawlies, and this would've been over 3 years ago now. For the next month though, I was extremely on edge, and refused to sit down in the break room, frequently cleaned every surface in there, and left the building as soon as I could. Spoiler My girlfriend whom I work and live with, often has to write up charts at the end of the day, so it's not abnormal for her to be working for another hour after I've finished. At that time, I would just hang out in the break room until it was time to go home together. So for a while, I would go sit on a curb outside, because I felt itchy just being in there.
Dreambiscuit 9,817 Sunday at 06:15 AM Share Sunday at 06:15 AM While not as bad as many insects (meaning they don’t really bite or anything), they look awful skittering about. I’ve seen them as large as cigarette lighters and that was unsettling. Let’s face it, bugs aren’t really high on my list of awesomeness. The lightsaber in the pic is cool though. 1
