tomatopotato 154 January 29 Share January 29 I use Firefox on my Mac and Safari on my iPhone. Here's an explanation for all you tech nerds :3 Spoiler Firefox on desktop because it's open source, so I can customize things however I like. Currently all I've implemented are just visual customizations (e.g. tab border curves, alignment of buttons, stuff like that), but I'm definitely gonna do more in the future. Safari on my iPhone because Safari is the best browser for iPhone. All browsers are forced to use Apple's Webkit engine on iOS, so Chrome, Edge, Firefox.....all of them are just reskinned versions of Safari. In my opinion, Safari has the best UI among browsers on iPhone, and it isn't really missing anything important.

Google has terrible privacy practices and I’ve only seen companies force their employees to not use Chrome. I’ve never heard of a company restricting their employees to exclusively Chrome. That’s really interesting!

Bojo 1,422 January 29 Share January 29 I use Chrome because I'm just too used to it but now that you mention I might go back to Firefox after so many years. Another con of Chrome is that it's a RAM blackhole hahaha, especially if you open several tabs. XD I completely agree!! Firefox is the best in everything (except for UI it’s one of the worst lol). I switched about six months ago after the manifest v3 update (the one that screwed ad blockers on Chrome)

The thing that I really love about Firefox is the customizability. Because it's open source, I can do anything I want with the UI, and that genuinely made it more beautiful for me. If you do a bit of research on Google you'll learn that creating a userChrome.css file and adding some code to it will make a huge difference. For example, this is my default Firefox: And this is my Firefox after adding some code to userChrome.css: These little differences are a make-or-break experience for me, and I'm really glad that I changed Firefox. I've added my userChrome.css to this post in case anyone here wants to use it for their own themes P.S. this link explains where to create your userChrome.css file. The location matters so it's crucial that you put it in the right place. https://www.userchrome.org/how-create-userchrome-css.html userChrome.css Edited January 30 by tomatopotato
