Well French and Japanese are two languages i wanna learn, since i think they sound the coolest.

However. This part in Bleach made me wanna learn Spanish. Which i might consider if i master the two other languages first.

One of my top music genres is aggrotech, which basically started in Germany and other German speaking nations. Even Suicide Commando, one of the grandfathers of the genre, is from Belgium, specifically the German speaking region. Over time this has influenced me to want to learn the language, that and the language's relation to English within the Germanic space. Been learning for nearly three years, still not all that great at all though. Lines up well with me overall.

If you learn French, then Spanish will be much much easier as it is also a latin language, also Italian or Portuguese, speaking of which...

The "Memes do Laranjo" caused me a weird urge to learn some portuguese:

Aleksandr Sam (@AleksandrSam) / X

And then, recently came Você Sabo:

The fact that there's a 20-30% I cannot understand makes it much funnier so I guess I should stay still.:oneheckofahat:

Does it count if I didn't necessarily want to learn a new language but did because of entertainment media? Because that's English for me (I'm Finnish, so English is foreign language to me). We did have it (and Swedish) in school, but I didn't like learning languages, and was very bad at it when I got out of school. (Just for comparison, as I have not needed the language, I speak 0 Swedish nowadays). But then I got into ponies, games, and other English media (and youtube) which made me learn English, and now I speak/understand it better than some native speakers seem to.

I do have other example too from my past, Swedish. When I was a kid, I had this one computer game that taught Swedish, and I absolutely loved it, especially the numbers, and I knew the numbers up to 12 in Swedish before I was even old enough to have languages in School, I did forget them though, as I didn't remember them when we actually studied Swedish, and as stated, I don't speak even that little anymore. :ooh:

Anything anime. I love Japanese and endeavored for years to learn Japanese. Anime got me interested in Japanese culture and the nuances of the language. If I were to pick out anything specific I’d say ‘Your Name’ had the strongest influence.
