Bencass 28 March 9 Share March 9 I didn't grow up with FiM, but I did come across a lot FiM fan works in the early 2010s. And Equestria sometimes reminds me of oldschool Disney animations and my favorite amusement parks. What about you?
SharpWit 2,748 March 9 Share March 9 Oh tons of memories. I'm not sure if there's a lot of nostalgia since I've never really stopped? I've definitely slowed down by not consuming nearly as much mlp content, and the friends who were into it fell out of the Fandom within a few years, and most of them I haven't seen for many more. One thing that comes to mind that I'm nostalgic for is these cardboard wars we held. You could make armor and weapons primarily out of cardboard and duct tape. One friend made a helmet that had a unicorn horn and pony ears, and a shield with a Twilight silhouette and something written beneath. I made a plated chest and back armor piece with light shoulder covers. There were wings on the back, and the whole thing was covered with light blue duct tape. The front had Rainbow Dash's cutie mark on the upper left with a stripe going down diagonally like a sash. I still have the armor, but it's packed away and peeling pretty badly after all this time, and I can't seem to find much for pictures. I also made these gauntlet wing blades. Thought they'd look cool and the previous year I had been disarmed of my weapon and only had my shield, so I came up with those to ensure they couldn't be taken off and essentially have a sword and shield in each hand. There's my great sword as well That's super bulky. It's covered in black and dark grey duct tape, with New Lunar Republic written with silver sharpie in Latin.
Fluttershutter 2,580 March 10 Share March 10 I got into FIM late in the first season and loved it. Then I remember getting up early to watch the season 2 premier and watching the first episode with Discord. I could have just watched it later but it was fun and worth it to see it right away. I also remember for one of the season premiers making muffins and cherrychangas.
Avvery 26 March 10 Share March 10 I think the one memorable things was being part of the brony community. Never have I experienced such a wonderful and friendly community from both real life and online, such as making friends more easier. I feel pretty lucky and fortunate to stumble across this forum.
