(One note: I don't expect all of you to reply as long as this. You can reply no more than five paragraphs(though that would be unlikely, only need to write that long), and no less than two to three sentences(One sentence if you want to add suspense, comedy, or any other that you might wish to write). Actually, this RP is based on a story I'm writing, the paragraphs below are the first ones in the book, and I'm hoping that it changes from there. Everything below is mostly just to let you get familiar with Arcivona. Oh, and this RP will be in the form of three books.)

Book One - Ovation of the Shadows

Like all the nights Galarien Liathil had lived through, this one was cold and quiet. Nothing happened that much, but even then, most thefts happened at night, so the night goddess, Ladruna, had the Night Guard, a group of people who kept the other areas of Aundair free of crime. Galarien was a magicborn, a human with the gift of magic. Like nearly every magicborn who used this ability, he carried a crystal that would allow his to concentrate and store some of his energy. For him, he carried the crystal in a bandanna that covered his forehead and showed the crystal. The power was given by the goddess Mystrila, who ruled and watched over the land during the day. Aside from magic, other people were given flight, the power to control the weather and ability to walk on clouds. The people in this group were called skyborn, while the humans who had none of these abilities were called earthborn.

Galarien, along with the other people in his patrol – two skyborn and four magicborn, including him – were silently walking through the forest surrounding Vaireska, a city on the southwestern side of Aundair, populated by magicborn and skyborn. Even though it was difficult for a stranger to wander into Vaireska, the houses and buildings were built on the trees, high from the ground and invisible to unwanted visitors. The Vaireskans had a certain dislike for the earthborn, for they were 'weak and easily defeated,' as one of the Elders had said. The Elders were the leaders and decision makers of Vaireska.

Seeing a light in the distance, Galarien motioned for the rest of his group to look, and they nodded. Spreading out in the trees to avoid noise and hoping to surprise anyone responsible for the light, they moved stealthily towards the light. A svelte skyborn appeared from the trees to his left, the feathered wings on her back keeping her above the ground for a few feet, whom Galarien recognized as Daltari Silverlight. “Do you think it could be a gateway?” She asked. A gateway was an enchanted ring that, when magically tied to another gateway, served as a quick way to get around Aundair. Since magicborn could just teleport themselves, but the skyborn and earthborn could not, groups of them had to use these gateways to travel far distances in a short time.

With their darksight, something given from Ladruna to enable them to see clearly at night as if it were day, the light confused them for a while. Their darksight only enabled when there was no light bright enough to see anything else, and this light was bright enough. Galarien waited until he could clearly see again, blinking several times.

Remembering Daltari's question, Galarien just shrugged and continued towards the light.

Realizing the rest of his patrol had already spread out, Galarien could no longer see them, especially Daltari, for he had always known that she could easily blend with the forest. Now he was alone.

He dared not call out to them, because light always meant people. Though he was unsure, he kept walking. He didn't mean for his patrol to spread out that far, and that made it easier for whoever was there to pick them off.

Touching his bandanna to make sure it was still there, he raised a hand, ready to cast a spell if the need ever arised.

(Really, though. Due to some problem that I hope will be fixed, every post someone else makes just doesn't show up, even to the poster.)
