How did you find MLP Forums?

I think I got linked to an old thread about G5, and when I clicked around out of curiosity, found the site is still decently active. So, hi!

How you became a fan of My Little Pony

Ooh! I have this prewritten for a blog I'm making at some point! Here comes the text~

It was 2011, and I was probably a pretty average middle schooler. It was a weekend, I believe, and I was browsing the Minecraft Forums, because Minecraft was kind of the hot new thing to be interested in around then. I was in the Culture, Media, and Arts section of the Off-Topic forums when I found a thread named after My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Juvenile as I was, my immediate thought was to enter and make fun of everyone inside. So I did! Because who thinks twice when you’re a preteen?

Cooler heads prevailed, though. Some of the more levelheaded members of the thread asked me, “how do you know what’s bad about it if you haven’t seen it?”

“Good point,” I thought, following the links I was given; “If I watch the show, I can come up with much more specific material to degrade them with!” (yes, kid me was cruel)

Of course, one thing led to another, and I’d finished through S1E2, tears welling up in my eyes as I made a few necessary realizations. I was basically a doppelganger of the main character, Twilight Sparkle; self-assured, sarcastic, and not at all interested in friends. But Twilight had been shown another way. And somehow…I had too. Not sure how I didn’t see that before this show, but I’ll be darned if it didn’t make me finally aware of just what I’d been missing!

The rest is history. Though I’ve stepped on and off “The Ride” that is the fandom, I’ve obsessed over these colorful characters for 14 years and counting now. Even the newest iteration, Generation 5, that most seemed to hold ire for, just seemed perfect to me. Not objectively so, but to me. And that was what was important.

Whew, not much more to say for now I suppose! I can start with that I'm a musician, though, and just finished off my AA via the Music track. I'm a very big G5 fan, as well as G4; both generations have now each saved my life one time and given me new purpose one time each. The themes that I'd dip into elaborating on this aren't quite appropriate for an introductory thread, but it bears mentioning nonetheless! 

I plan to go back and rewatch G1-3 as well, once I have both the time and spoons. 

I write stuff sometimes and do techy stuff sometimes as well!

I am alternatingly all about the lore, and all about the nonsense shenanigans the cute colorful horses get up to. Which is which depends on my mood

It's uh, been awhile since I used a proper forum, so I'm a bit rusty on specific functions and stuff. I'll pick it up as I go on, I'm sure!

Hello and welcome to the herd!

Relatable This show also made me realize quite a few things, like suddenly yearning for my childhood, the time at school with friends and the like, because at the time I bumped into MLP I didn't have any of that anymore. Interestingly, I didn't really feel like I'm missing something prior to bumping into this show, or at least I simply didn't ponder such matters.

funnily enough i am also super into the lore. I have little documents trying to put world events in order so that I can write a story I'm working on as accurately as possible ^~^
