Berry-Bliss-Sundae 1,311 2 hours ago Share 2 hours ago Thanksgiving was recently, how did you celebrate it? If it's not celebrated in your country, did you take advantage of any Black Friday deals online? Not me, but I would have liked to buy a Final Fantasy game on Steam
liujiadong 2,358 2 hours ago Share 2 hours ago On Black Friday, I usually hit up the Nike store for clothes and shoes—they’re 25% off, way cheaper than normal! Then on Thanksgiving, I went back to my hometown and chilled with the fam all day. It was so fulfilling, I’m already gonna miss this year’s Thanksgiving. SharpWit 3,018 1 minute ago Share 1 minute ago The day before I stayed up till 3AM to make a Pumpkin Curry with rice and get Started on Macaroni Muffins after getting home from work. The day of, we got up at 9:30AM, I finished the muffins, and we left the apartment a little before noon to go to my girlfriend's parents. Once there, we hung out and watched the National Dog Show, where her mom guessed the winning breed from the final 7 best in show for their category. Then we all left to my girlfriend's cousin's house who was hosting. I was surprised that we arrive pretty much before anyone else. The Cowboys Vs. the Chiefs game was on in the background, and after that it was switched to the Army Vs. Navy Football game. We hung out, ate turkey and variety of dishes. Got stuffed and felt stuffy from the heat being up too high, but that's how it is when you're mostly surrounded by seniors with anemia. I took some pictures of tiny flora and fauna as I traditionally do for a thanksgiving post. We then went home and after calling my mom and stepfather, went to bed "early" as we had been instructed to arrive back at my girlfriend's parents early for Black Friday Shopping. 8PM for her, 9:30PM for me, as I'm a night owl. We got up at 2:30AM, and arrived just after 4AM. We then went to one of our favorite donut chain locations, but they were closed, so we went to the next nearest one, and I'm pretty sur ewe were their first customers of the day. We then went to a JC Penny, as they were giving out free Snow Globes. The location is notoriously empty, so I joked that we could arrive just before closing and they would still have some. I was wrong though. There were 20 people ahead of us in line, and the guy before us had been there since 1AM! Another 30 something people got in line behind us at it drew closer to opening. We got our snowglobes, which much to @Snoopy Fan appreciation, were of snoopy sleeping upon the doghouse, though it lacked the christmas lights of your current pic. We were also each given a mystery coupon with three potential discounts. We all got the $10 off any $10 or greater purchase, and split it between some candles that had an additional by 3 for some kind of lower amount deal. We then went to a Target to try and get their swag bag. I really did not expect that line, but there must have been 200 people. The person in front of us was complaining about how a purchase wasn't required to get the bags, and I thought that was kind of a fair point. Also heard someone complaining who chose to wait by the front door rather than get in the line about how they weren't letting everyone in at once, which like, that's stupid. How are you not aware of the reputation of Black Friday Shoppers for stampeding? Anyways, we didn't get them because they only had enough for the first 100. Not completely sure what all came in them, I guess a few little goodies, but they also came with a ticket to redeem for a prize. We watched someone win a giant slushie machine, so quit ethe win on their part. I don't need or want one, but cool anyways. We ourselves didn't need anything, especially because other than the bags, there weren't really any deals taking place, so we used the restroom and left. After that was when I found out that no one had actually planned this adventure out, because the majority of places we evidently wanted to go to had either normal or later opening hours, so aside from these two attempts at prizes, there was no point in getting up early, so we spent the rest of it going to farther out locations to pass the time, and while a few things were purchased, no major deals other than Bath and Body Works where you could buy 3 things and get 4 free of equal or lesser value, so we got more candles. My girlfriend's mother is now most likely set for the year on those, and given that roughly comes out to under $10 per candle, I suppose it was worth it, only because they were all quite big, I was carrying like 20 lbs of wax. At the end we went back to their house, grabbed her father, went to the christmas tree farm that he's been going to for his entire life as his grandfather was friends with the original owner who has passed it down a few generations now. We probably picked out a tree in record time, then went out to eat at an old cafe, where the waitress was amused by our orders all being so different. Me wanting breakfast even though it was afternoon by this point. My girlfriend who ordered the vegetarian option, her brother ordering two desserts, her father ordering a regular burger, and I don't recall what her mom got, but still. We then went back to their place, where I took a nap filled with nightmares, and came down to the tree set up. We then decorated it, and went home after. We were still proper tired, so it was promptly off to bed. Now we're getting ready for a little outing with a dog that has complicated family connections for the day, and have "Thanksgiving Pizza" at my paternal Grandmother's house, before going to look at some christmas light displays. After that, our celebrations for this particular holiday should be over. TLDR; Cooked, ate some turkey, attempted some shopping, mild chaos, set up christmas tree, eating pizza at Grandma's with a doggy friend today.
