Right now I'm listening to an audio book of Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (read by William Roberts) and reading Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett.

in some aspects, yes! however i cannot say for certain as the "scariness" hasn't fully started yet at the place i'm at in the book. one thing i like about the book is that the concept of "shining" is elaborated on and explained a lot better, whereas the movie leaves it pretty ambiguous. also the characters' backstories are fleshed out a lot more.

I forgot I ordered this book a while ago, How You Make Me Feel: The Life & Legacy of Marcus Intalex by Sherif Dhaimish and Mark O'Donnell, and it came in yesterday. I'm going through it today and so far it's very interesting. I've been researching a ton into the history of jungle and drum & bass so it's been very helpful with that, shows how interconnected a lot of people are.

It's a biography of DJ and music artist Marcus Kaye, otherwise known as Marcus Intalex, and his career in the rave music scene as well as some parts of his personal life.

He's one of my personal idols and I don't have that many. It's great to hear he was a decent bloke, very blunt and honest but that was his way of showing his kindness.

The little story on there about Goldie giving them that mixing desk is funny. Why was he in his underpants? We'll never know, but that's really just classic Goldie nonsense.

I love learning and thinking about how interconnected people are. It's a fascinating concept
