1 x 1 Roleplay between KinkyRice and AppleandDashFan247.

It was the late afternoon when Rice woke up, it was her day off, so she'd slept in. She had realized that tomorrow she had to cook a special dish for the Royal Guard. There was yet again another event that she'd been picked to cook for. Of course Rice didn't mind, it was her job after all, but she had always longed to be invited to one of these events, instead of slaving away in the huge kitchen with lots of other ponies, barking out commands and wondering why the creme brulee was too liquidy.

She mosied on out of bed, making her way toward her bookshelf. One that she'd inherited from her mother. It held books of all kinds, but of course her favorite section was the cook books. She smiled flipping through the pages of the deserts and gasped when she was a rare and often never made recipe for a special custard. She nodded, looking through the direction and ingredients.

I'm almost certain that I can make this. The boy's are sure to love this, maybe I'll even get to deliver it in person" She giggled, now drifting off into her own little world. Thikning about how nice it'd be if she'd met her prince charming tomorrow night as well. Sighing in bliss, she snapped out of her daydream, and looked back down to the ingredients section and raised a brow.

The recipe had called for something strange. An herb that was to give the custard a special flavor. She then got up, and galloped over to her large kitchen, sifting through all her seasonings and ingredients. Surely and hour had gone by until she'd given up. "I.. don't own that.." She mumbled slightly peeved. She pulled on her shoes and quickly stepped out, not bothering to lock her door as she was careless enough to leave it that way. She made her way into town, the market was busy and bustling as usual, she walked into her trusty supply store and rested her hooves on the front counter. The shop owner was dealing with another customer but she didn't mind the wait. 'Surely he will have it' She thought trying to put the worry out of her mind. She cursed herself for not looking into this recepe sooner. Once the shop keeper was finished, the two of them had a chat about this particular ingredient. Not long after Rice had explained to him what she needed the shop owner shook his head. "I'm afraid that I am out of stock for now." He sighed seeing the young pony deflate. "The only way you could get some, is if you had someone go and find it in the Everfree forest." He paused and looked back at a log book. "I could probably have someone get over there tomrorrow, my delivery pony comes back at noon tomorrow how does that sound?" Rice sighed, that would be too late, there was no way she could make enough of the desert for everypony at the dinner tomorrow with that little time. She thought about it some more. She was wasting time now as well. "Thanks for your help, I have to get going now." She said to him, not giving him a straight answer and hurried on out of the shop.

It had been decided. Rice was determined to make a trip into the Everfree forest to obtain the herbs she needed on her own. The thought of making another desert never even occured to her. She was far too stubborn to change her mind now that it had been made. She had even pushed thoughts of substituting the herb for another that had a similar effect and taste, but Rice didn't want to feel like a cheater, she was passionate about having the whole meal come out perfect. 'If I only see this through half way, I will only get a half way prince' She mused as she walked over to her house now. She pulled on a hood and gathered a basket, packing a snack and headed off. 'If I leave now, I may be able to make it back before dawn' She thought carelessly. No thoughts of impending danger or possibly getting lost crossed her naive little mind.

  • 2 months later...

"You write back when you can, got it?"

"You know it!" said a ailicorn by the age of fourteen. Young Tristan Cherry-Swift. He was on his way, searching for a pony of wonders, looking for she who made a sonic rainboom!

*Flashback*

"You okay out up there, boy?" said a stalion by the name of Red Cherry. "What's going on out here?" said a Mare by the name of Mary 'The Wonder Mare' Swift "Yea, I'm okay," Said Tristan, "But I don't think the sky is!"

They all looked up, only to see- "The sonic rainboom." They all said together. Tristan was in awe. for he had made some amazing tricks before, but NONE of them were as amazing as a sonic rainboom! For years, it seemed like, he could only think about that sonic rainboom. when he was in school: sonic rainboom. When he was on the farm: sonic rainboom. When others builled him for being different: sonic rainboom. one day, three years and eleven months later, his parents saw how sad it made him, never knowing where that thing came from. "We can't let him go away," said Red, "What about school? What about the farm? What about his little sister?" Little M.J. Cherry-Swift walks into the room. "We HAVE to!" said Mary, "It hurts him SO much to know that thing, the sonic rainboom, but only from seeing it! He wants to know more!" Red wasn't convinced.

"Plus, who KNOWS what he could learn! We could go down in history for our son teaching the world about sonic rainbooms."

*Present Day*

"You write back when you can, got it?"

"You know it, Pa!" Said Tristan, who was too old to keep calling his father pops, but he did it anyway for his dad's joy for it.

"Call us when you get settled!"

"Okay, mom!" And with that, fourteen year old Tristan Cherry-Swift was on the road, with nothing more than a pocket full of sunshine and a sack full of dreams. (and three months worth of zap fruit bouquets, thanks to the people of Pegicity.)

"Wait," said Mary, "Where's Mary Junior?" Red went into the house, up the stairs, and into M.J.'s room, where he found pillows under the blantet. "She's gone!"

Red went outside and told his wife everything.

"She must be with Tristan!" said Mary.

But it was too late.
